Oh, I have no expectations at all about it, and never implied snow volleyball is popular. However, since volleyball is my lifelong sport and the snow variant is being considered as an Olympic sport, I would really like to see the demonstration match. Nothing more to it than that.

The Olympic demonstration match was streamed live during our night, and you can now watch the event on YouTube: The announcer switches to English just before the 4:00 minute mark.

They miss 3 out of the first 4 serves. This also looks very dangerous to me. I'm sure they're wearing some sort of cleat, but this just looks like an ACL waiting to happen. They are moving so gingerly that it looks cautious and unathletic - very different than the sand where you can dive all over the place multiple times a match. It's also tough to move laterally and make explosive block moves.
It looks like a drunken canadian weekend.

Lifelong Sconnie here. I just have to say.... SNOW volleyball? WTH? WHY? WHY would you go outside and play volleyball in the snow? This is silly. Agree with money - this looks like it was invented during a drunken dare.

I think it'd be fun to play, and the co-ed 3s format is interesting. I play a lot of 3s myself. They do tons of grass 3s in Waupaca, WI, maybe that will become a snow volleyball haven in the winter. (I doubt it, am kidding, really).

It looks like a drunken canadian weekend. Is there any other kind of Canadian weekend?

No imagination whatsoever in the genesis of this sport.
If you're going to look into an experimental sport, I prefer roller derby on ice.

I have been amused by the back and forth between my son and his friends from Lewis In regards to this exhibition variant of volleyball. Seems that it has been a “thang” on campus during the winter when the sand court was deep in snow. As a mom I was assured they were sober

Could be worse...if you think snow volleyball is the most stupid winter sport, you should see ski ballet or snow kayaking. On a more serious note, bandy seems more likely the next winter sport to be included in a future Winter Olympics, ahead of snow volleyball. What is bandy? Think of it as a cross between ice hockey and soccer. Like hockey, players wear body gear like helmets and use a stick to direct an object, instead of the puck in hockey, it's a ball. Unlike hockey, the playing surface is much larger, skating on a field rather than a rink and it's about the size of a soccer pitch. Like soccer, games are divided into two halfs with 45 minutes each and 11 players per side.

As a mom I was assured they were sober We used to play sand in pretty cold conditions in Northern California -- 50 degrees outside. I was thinking you could play volleyball in the snow if the snow was on top of a sand court. Ideally the layer of snow would be minimal. Once you get below 20 degrees F or any significant wind, then it probably would be time to head indoors for a hot adult beverage.

Well, a group of us are going to play snow volleyball in MN in a couple weeks. That's partly because indoor places get crowded, Wisconsin seems to have all of the indoor sand places, and many of us think it will be a blast. And being inside all of the time except to go out in the dark and cold makes us crazy enough to get outside in the sun (hopefully), no matter how. Broomball being the other crazy solution, for those of us who can't skate.
