WHY I PLAY #17 Tulane senior Madeline Mertz ----------------- #19 Cal sophomore Madison Dueck: "After two days of hard play, we came out not only 4-0 [Cal vs. #18 Tulane 5-0, Cal vs. Arizona State 4-1], but with a national ranking! (...) I can honestly say that this past weekend was the most fun I've ever had at a tournament." - calbears.com/news/2018/2/22/a-cal-beach-volleyball-blog-by-madison-dueck.aspx

USC takes set 1 on all 5 courts. Only #4 wasn’t close. Update: UH up early on a few courts in the second set. The scores seem to be streaking. Is there a good side and a bad side?? Update 2: Hawaii takes set 2 at #1, 3 and 4, and USC is falling apart on #5 and down early in the 3rd on #4. USC take a point at #2. Hawaii takes #4. Update 3: USC takes #1, but looks about to lose 3 and 5. UH 3:2 USC Again tomorrow, like today, USC and Hawaii play, with it being USC’s 2nd of back to back matches.
