looking at the stats for the match...it's kinda mind-blowing how many more digs byu had than Texas, 38 to 23. Everyone talks about Jones-Perry but Mary Lake was the true difference maker in the match.

I don’t think there is as much up on the air about setting as some do. Give Jhenna an entire off-season to train as a setter. Remember she came in as a walk-on DS. This spring and summer she will work on running the offense and blocking. Things are looking good for Texas 2019. She gives up a lot on the block. She doesn't have the hops to make up for her lack of height. She would be fine if running a 6-2. Maybe Texas should look for her clone and try it.

YBG has been incredible to watch. Amazing player. She doesn't have the kills but when Texas needed her she always comes up big. The girl can be an OH, OPP and MB. Very versatile. Not a Texas fan but a YBG fan!

Congrats on a great season Texas. To make it to the elite eight, many teams wish they could make it that far at least once in their 4 years. I don’t want to see the seniors leave, but i have no other choice. How their leadership changed the program after last season and Yazzies dedication to play wherever to help the team, means a lot to the program. I can’t wait to see how Texas build off these 4 freshmen next season. 2019 will be even more special and i will be cheering yall on. HOOK’ EM

That is what she played at Maryknoll. She is the career leader in both assists and digs there. Where did you get her spring and summer training agenda?

I don't follow Texas, and I am wondering if someone could fill me in as to why Ashley Shook was taken out as setter?

Her connection with both middle blockers was also just not there--I think she got taken out after something like 3 straight wiffs to the middles.

She appeared only in ds-libero roles in their Europe trip that’s probably what they were abiding it off of.

Jhenna absolutely trained at Texas as a setter and a DS.

I was just letting you know maybe where someone else got the idea. However it is known that Jhenna is a walk on. Jerritt told her she would likely never play. 2 scholarship setters on the roster. 3 scholarship DS. I’m sure she will be put on scholarship next year with luketic spot opening up.

You also don't and likely never will know if I was a walk on because it is private information. I think most scholarship contracts are like like if you check the box. You say " Jerritt told her she would likely never play." How do you know that? However, I do strongly believe that Mr. Elliott never intended to start Jhenna either this year or next at any position. Elliott said. "She is a go-getter. She just wants an opportunity to compete and she will be so excited to prove herself. She is going to add a lot. All she wants to do is find a spot on the floor, regardless of the position. We are excited for her to join our team and bring her high level of volleyball and technical IQ." Gabriel will join Sydney Petersen and Asjia O'Neal to compete in fall of 2018. I read that as she will have the opportunity to earn a spot. I wanted to believe that. Didn't though. When Elliott found himself in a box he put Jhenna in. Jhenna saved the day and the Cat was out of the bag. Most fans that did not know, now knew she was very good. You wrote "2 scholarship setters on the roster." Do you mean that Riley Fisbeck is on scholarship? It's not required to name a player's position when she is signed to an athletic scholarship unless that has changed since my college days. Was Katarina on an academic scholarship or athletic? Full ride scholarships? For the most part, its a one year contract. To much emphasis on scholarships. There are other resources for good student athletes.

Elliot said in an interview that he told her she might very well never see the court. He said that she told him she still wants to go to Texas and she will work her hardest to earn a spot. Jerritt Elliott said those words. To her. And then in an interview. That’s how I know.

Do you know if he was in Hawaii when he said that? Now, this totally makes sense. Been saying for quite some time that Elliott never had any intention of starting Jhenna this year or next.

Paul Sunderland quoted Elliot in the middle of a match when talking about Gabriel I believe. I also think I read it online. He forsure talked about the conversation he had with her in an interview but I honestly don’t know where it is exactly.
