I think I might head on over to the Stanford Dish and run the trails. Not easy with the hilly terrain. Then, head on over to In-n-Out or some pizza place and pig out. At least we're now getting some more typical summer weather and temps have moderated.

If a mountain lion makes a meal out of Wolfgang then the above posts were his final ones on VolleyTalk. The mountain lion is a nocturnal animal mainly searching for prey from dusk to dawn, hence running in the middle of the day is pretty safe. However, mountain lions are also opportunistic and if they sense a slow easy target they can strike at any time of the day.

That's what's missing in this forum -- love.

i have reached a sad moment. around june 12th, i pulled or tore an ab muscle. i have tried to continue working out but, even though i have modified my routines and dropped some exercises, i have to shut it down.
the tummy area (core) is involved in practically everything i do and i'm tired of it aching. i do plan to continue walking. i hope some time off will clear it up

You may have re-aggravated it also which implies extra time.

You can do the following: - stationary cycling - lift weights i was doing these things. the normal routine became untenable.
i went for a hour walk this morning and that felt okay. i assume it will take weeks for this to self-correct

Well, time to go running. I think I'll drive over to Stanford and then eat some burger in downtown Palo Alto.

Exercise time! 5 miles in this heat. The good news is that I've got watermelon and ice cream ready at home when I get back. Woo Hoo!

It has been sort of humid in Silicon Valley the last few days ... must have been a cut off low floated up the coast. It looks like the next 4 or 5 days we'll have lower humidity and cooler temps. This will all be very helpful for Wolfgang if he decides to go on another 5 mile jaunt.
