Does anyone use a wrist heart rate monitor? If so, are they accurate? Any recommendations. I ask because I tried a bunch years ago, but they kept losing their accuracy. I had to revert to a chest strap, which I really don't like putting on.

It's raining now so I'm going to run along Stevens Creek Trail beginning at Mountain View. See ya, losers! Truly amazing that we are getting a week of off again / on again rain here in NorCal in the middle of May. Can I use the word unprecedented?

I had to revert to a chest strap, which I really don't like putting on. I don’t use them. My old elliptical machine had those — you gripped the electrodes with your hands and the machine gives you a reading of, among other things, your heart rate. I didn’t rely on them. I wasn’t even sure they were accurate. Anyway, I just exercise at a very brisk pace for a continuous stretch of time such that I feel like my heart is doing a lot of work — but not so much that it feels like it’s about to burst. That’s what you should be shooting for. But I’m sure someone here can recommend a good wrist monitor.

I use them when I go on a brisk walk to make sure I'm in the fat burning zone, which is 60-70% of your max heart rate. However, the HRM needs to be precise for this to work. You also need to find your max HR, which is not easy.

Well, off to the Stevens Creek Trail for a lengthy run. Maybe I'll do 6 miles today. Gotta take my watch.

I know I can't use the word "unprecedented" (whoops), but May rainfall totals set all time records in CA. I can run in the rain or under the hot sun. Doesn't matter to me. I don't like running when it's windy though. Stuff gets into my eyes.

Right now, it's hot like hell outside in the 90s, therefore, I'm going to run 5 miles. LOL! If I die, I bequeath my PS4 Pro console to mikegarrison so as to break through his stubborn resistance and open his eyes (finally!) to the joys of the PS4!!!

If mike is a going to be a stubborn f***, then you can have them, although you've played everything I've played, I think.

I think I might head on over to the Stanford Dish and run the trails. Not easy with the hilly terrain. Then, head on over to In-n-Out or some pizza place and pig out.
