We're not such food purists. We just drop whatever ingredients we have, add water, and then press a button. After we transfer it into our bowls, we add spices and stuff. I guess if we add soy sauce, it instantly becomes a Chinese dish. If we add curry powder, it becomes an Indian dish. If we add pasta, it becomes Italian. If we noodles, it becomes Japanese Udon. If we add, potatoes, it becomes American. Basil and sriracha, it becomes Vietnamese. Sauerkraut, esp. if there's sausage in there, German. It was worth a shot. Our Instant Pot came with a recipe book containing a variety of ethnic recipes. All I did was look them over, absorbed the general principles and then never looked at them again. My wife occasionally looks up Instant Pot recipes on youtube. She suggests some to me. I watch them just to show my support for my wife, but at the end of the day, I'm doing whatever I want.

Today is fruits and veggies day; that is, I go out to buy a week's worth of fruits and veggies.

I'm eating an energy bar. It's called Pure Organic. It's not my favorite but the wife bought some to try it out.

My Instant Pot has been used maybe 3 times since I got it a long time ago. It just takes too long to heat up and to cool off. It’s good for recipes that allow all ingredients to be put in all at once. Even for those recipes manual pressure cooker will take shorter time overall. For recipes calling for ingredients to be added at different stages, the manual pressure cooker is far better -- because manual pressure cooker can be immersed in water for immediate cool off between adding ingredients. I do not recommend immersing an Instant Pot in water, hot or cold. For a different type of cooking, the gadget I most recommend is Air Fryer. I gave up oil frying long ago for many reasons. Air fryer replaces that adequately, and adds the benefit of speed, overall convenience, with the otherwise difficult-to-achieve “crispy outside, moist inside” result. Fries, chicken nuggets, Buffalo wings, steaks, pork chops, Brussels sprouts, I can go on and on. It’s also a superior reheating device than regular convection oven or microwave.

I was going to ask about the noodles in the instant pot, then I read your second part. Do you add any liquid with the other stuff?

@ruffda have you ever been to Unideli in Minneapolis? No. I'm more of a St. Paul restaurant guy. And that's tucked into an area of Minneapolis I'm seldom in.

Really? You saying it's racist is racist. Guess what? There's nothing in that particular area of Minneapolis that I frequent. It has nothing to do with who lives there. I actually have no idea who lives there.
