I mean if they had lost it would have been on the coaches for not starting BVS. The difference in ball control was noticeable.

BVS said she only had 1 day of practice. I'm sure the coaches were hoping they wouldn't need her this week.

She needs to take it easy on the court.
Hanawahine and co can't expect her to cover short when she's defending middle back either.

She was much better there. Yes I think this is the lineup they’ll use when JR comes back. Hellvig stays on the right side and JR as BVS on the outside. If they are going to keep Okino there instead of Wagoner then they I would still have BVS play back left when she’s in the back if possible.

We have seen the offense and defense struggle with BVS and JR out. Hopefully the coaching staff can manage the practice/recovery time for them.

I like Hannah being subbed out. She's actual been a weak spot recently with teams targeting her on serve receive exclusively. She gets shaky on her passing and the rest of her game begins to fall apart. With Hawaii back to last years modified 6-2, Hannah can just come in and focus on hitting and blocking. She was huge against UC Davis Set 5, and I feel if she was having to pass all night long, she wouldn't have factored in as much.
I think Iosia needs to be playing all six rotations. Too good of a volleyball player and leader not have all the way around. I think her only playing three rotations is part of the reason why her game regressed this year. She's coming in cold, and that includes her setting.
Once Rasmussen is back and replaces Ross, I think this becomes the most potent and balanced lineup Hawaii can field going into the postseason.
Just hope everyone stays healthy or gets healthy.

I think Ah Mow should try Wagoner at libero at least once, just to try it out to see if Ah Mow likes what she sees and for Wagoner herself to determine if she can grow to like it. Next season, Hawaii will have no proven liberos other than Kyra Hanawahine (not sold on her), Janelle Gong (haven't played other than as a serving sub on a couple (if that) plays), and Georgia Via (untested freshman). We know Wagoner can dig and pass and her bump setting can be improved significantly.
She can be sold on this idea. Look at Megan Courtney, current USA libero. All-B1G, AVCA All-regional, star hitter for Penn State. Kelsey Robinson was an AVCA AA hitter at Nebraska who is now also playing mostly libero for Team USA. Wagoner has to know that if she wants to extend her volleyball career and potentially play for Team USA, perhaps it's a good idea to train at libero because she has the VB IQ, skills, and athleticism to pull it off.

Hellvig and Ross were weak in the serve receive last night. Not sure why Ross was put back into the back row after Wagoner would come in and serve for her. Wagoner has better ball control, and hitting numbers are about the same. Not really sure why Ross is starting over Wagoner. I'm guessing they want to see Wagoner develop some no doubt margin over Ross, but until then, senior over freshman.
Hawai'i served weak lolly pops for the most part the first two sets, at the wrong targets, and were error prone. The worst combination. Probably the biggest difference in the match was Hawai'i got more aggressive serving in the last three sets, and Davis passing suffered.

Yes, I'm pretty sure that's why they haven't thought about moving her yet. They need a good OH backup. Even with Van Sickle in there, if any one of the hitters is struggling--that doesn't leave much depth. But when you have JR back, you can put in a solid Ross if someone is struggling--I actually think she is usually a spark plug off the bench.
