All this talk of Jolie Rasmussen's star status and I have to say, I'd never heard of her until the transfer. But then again, I've never heard of a lot of top talent. If she was a lock to start at Oregon, why did she transfer? Maybe she doesn’t like the coach. I believe she committed when Jim Moore was coaching there. She might have been a “lock”; to start at UO but she probably wouldn’t be the go to player like she will be for the Wahine when the women’s season starts. Speaking of Jolie....saw her at the men’s game tonight. She even look like a stud physically. She was one of their go-to-players until she got injured. Borup transferred just in time to replace Rasmussen on the outside for the Ducks this past season.

They are quick and powerful. Would have been amazing if Agost had been a wahine!

If she was a lock to start at Oregon, why did she transfer? Yup the coach there now isn't the same one that recruited all the people leaving. She wasn't a lock to start--at the playoffs, they mentioned they were looking at their Nuneviller (who is a bit undersized at 5'11) to be an OH next year--now she's in a 3-way race for 2 spots (Not dethroning Willow Johnson on the right)--and might have decided it wasn't worth it. Also if she wanted to play 6-rotations, that was also going to be unlikely as Oregon is littered with defensive specialists.

I recall a few years ago when she was being recruited that Hawai’i was in the mix, but not too sure? Was Hawai’i one of her top choices?

Lol, Jolie healthy, most likely would have started this year and been the OH1 this coming up year.

I don't know which "she" you're referring to. Anyway, I read every damn Hawaii thread and have never heard of Jolie Rasmussen. So, if she was indeed being recruited by Hawaii and Hawaii was among her top choices, I never read about it on VT.

Borup is a fantastic hitter, imposing at the net. At 6'4 she can do a lot of things especially hitting the ball at different angles. I have not seen her play backrow. But she is definitely a game changer for the Ducks. I think they will be good at Opposite with Johnson returning, and fine in the middle with Stone returning. Setter will be a big question mark, with their star setter graduating. OH2 will be a question mark as well. I think Nuneviller should stay at Libero.

I think Nuneviller should stay at Libero. They apparently have one of the top liberos in the class coming in, which is also why Tastad is transferring out.

One thing about Oregon - that MANY here Have Frequently Mentioned; notwithstanding their fiercest homer's protestations - is their coach: who seems to promise A LOT to pretty much every team member (some have transferred/ are transferring: a lot!). Team management/ game management ARE important components of being a successful coach @ the D1 level: Seriously! Having "been there; done it", that's My take on him. Btw: Isn't this a UH thread, not UO?

I remember awhile back someone had mentioned her touring Manoa.
