Great win for Indiana and the B1G in the midst of a very confusing beginning for the conference and NCAA volleyball in general. It appears it is going to take awhile for things to settle out. What I forecast is that basically things this season will be per usual. The two top conferences are going to be the Pac12 and the B1G. The match by match competitiveness of those two conferences makes it difficult for other conference quality teams to compete come NCAA tournament time. Voters in the AVCA Coaches Poll should probably take note. Or maybe they SHOULD NOT, for national interest in NCAA women's volleyball!

I was thinking about it today, and sure, while Indiana is marginally better, it's probably not enough to get even past 7th place in the B10. It's TOO HARD!

hoosierman won the 3rd PTW contest of 2019 which is huge win for the Indiana volleyball program and the state of Indiana. You know... it really is. The state motto of Indiana is "The Crossroads of America." Which can be translated to: "Hey, please use us to get to that other place you wanted to go!" Now I live in Miami Beach, which is very similar to my hometown of Fort Wayne. Ha.

What has become of the Creighton transfer, Kari Zumach? She has not played in the last 3 games . Is she injured or just not performing up to the coach's expectations?

I'm so surprised I didn't see a thread about the IU / Maryland game.

I came here to wonder the same thing. Sadly, the season is not panning out; it's unfortunate. I was looking for Zumach during TO's, but I don't see her. Beerman looked pissed during the entire Iowa match. Things, um... don't look great in IU land. I wish Lofton could've been lifted up (as she should) to have a better senior season. Aird rubs me the wrong way during all of his interviews, etc.; I get that he's trying to be tough like Rose, but maybe that doesn't work straight out of the gates with teams that have been beaten down as Indiana has been in the past? He's so "bruh-y." But, yeah, that's just my take. I hope he can get Fitzner to stay after this season, and start bringing in OH's that don't have 12 hitting errors on their own in one match. Bring Weismiller back!

I was hoping Indiana makes some noise in the B1G and possibly making the tournament. Idk about numbers and wins but can they still make it?

I was hoping Indiana makes some noise in the B1G and possibly making the tournament. Idk about numbers and wins but can they still make it? Yes. They likely need 7 or 8 B1G wins to get there - and need Kentucky, FGCU, Oklahoma and Yale to keep winning. Uphill climb, but it is possible to see Indiana playing in the NCAAs. A season sweep of Michigan State along with wins over Iowa, at Rutgers, Ohio State, and Maryland all have to be W’s for the Hoosiers - any false moves here will spell disaster for Aird and the team (which makes Saturday’s match with Iowa all the more important). Then they need an upset. Like a road win at Michigan or Purdue.
