Dude, they were there in Lincoln last spring for the first VNL leg. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday -- 5000 people per day. Larson and Robinson didn't help them sell out the Devaney last spring and won't this spring either. And when you were in Omaha for the WGP finals in 2015, the event was played in a convention center so it obviously felt "hardly 1/3 full" despite filling significantly more seats over five days than they filled last year in Lincoln over three. Nebraskans show up for this stuff because it's Nebraska, not because of Larson (who hasn't played a collegiate match in over a decade) and Robinson (who was there for fifteen minutes).

Evidence: 2015 event promoted no former Nebraska players and sold significantly more tickets per day than the 2018 VNL event which DID promote former Nebraska players. You: wrong. Marketing is not a reason to neglect development. Nebraskans will show up no matter what.

Yep. All of the Olympic vets will be on prelim roster. I only hope we see some of the likes of Carlini, Poulter, Ogbogu, Washington, Lee, and some NCAA newcomers like Plummer, Foecke, Hentz and Maloney. Open tryouts are at the beginning of next month. We shall see what the 2019 season has in store soon enough :-)

I had a very specific discussion with Doug Beal in 2015 in Omaha about the lack of local support. There was limited Nebraska fans there and the ones that were there were in Nebraska red. It wasn’t much. Also the attendance was for the entire session not single matches, per day. But cool though, you know it all.

In a perfect world, the city of Lincoln would be advertising that Foluke Akinradewo is coming to town because everyone knows who she is.

The move to Lincoln/Devaney was a good choice. The decision to name Larson and Robinson made no difference whatsoever. You're conflating the two. 7,000 fans in a building that can fit 18,000 = concerning. 5,000 fans in a building that can fit 9,000 = not concerning.

Haha you will argue anything even when you’re wrong but hey write down your numbers and pretend to know it all. I’m going to go work on my resume now.

During those VNL games fans would cheer more for Larson whenever she scored than they would cheer when someone on team usa scored. Very childish and dumb. Of course 99% of those people had no clue who everyone else was besides Larson and maybe Robinson.

Importantly, cheering when Larson scores is cheering for the US). Very childish and dumb. Of course 99% of those people had no clue ( You realize most of these people watch more college volleyball (and international events when they come) than any other US fans?) who everyone else was besides Larson and maybe Robinson ( I think they knew who JWO was) . There are so many things wrong with the above. A Husker can, and maybe will, reply better, but some bold responses inline above.

Roster Rules for this years VNL. Does anyone know what the rules for roster postings are this year? Last year I recollect that the at-large roster was required at the beginning of play and that pool rosters were announced at a short date before each pool. It seems to me that the at-large roster was 27 names. Do we have any sense yet as to who will be on that roster?
