Absolutely true. Italy is already dangerous.
You have the starting 7 of the NT starting on all three of the top Series A1 teams:
Conegliano: Sylla, Danesi, De Genarro Novara: Egonu, Chirichella Scandicci: Malinov, L. Bosetti
Plus Folie and C. Bosetti are healthy and playing well too. I can see Italy overtaking Serbia by next year in 2020.
Lowe's first set killed her stats for sure. I'm just glad she turned it around later in the match.
At the middle position there's also Bonifacio ,who's having a great season. She and Danesi are top notch and the best Italian middles right now imho. Club Italia is struggling a lot because their players have been injured, but I can assure there are many talented girls who are already playing at the best level at the age of 17/18. Italy was the youngest team at the WCH,so the future looks bright for them Which team does Bonifacio play for? I would like to watch her play.

Novara:
S: Lauren Carlini (USA) MB: Stefana Veljkovic (SRB), Christina Chirichella (ITA) Opp: Paola Egonu (ITA) OH: Michelle Bartsch-Hackley (USA), Francesca Piccinini (ITA), Celeste Plak (NED), Yamila Nizetich (ARG) L: Stefania Sansonna (ITA)
Started off really strong in the league but have plateaued as of late. Still one of, if not the best in the league.
Busto Arsizio:
OH: Britt Herbots (BEL) OPP: Kaja Grobelna (BEL) S: Alessia Orro (ITA) MB: Sara Bonifacio (ITA)
I am not as familiar with this team as I do not watch them as often and though they don't seem stacked with foreign talent they are ranked in the top 5 in the league. They must be doing something right.
Scandicci:
S: Ofelia Malinov (ITA) OH: Lucia Bosetti (ITA), Annie Mitchem (USA), Bojana Milenkovic (SRB)[Currently injured], Elitsa Vasileva (BUL) MB: Adenizia Da Silva (BRA), Jovana Stevanovic (SRB) OPP: Isabelle Haak (SWE)
Conegliano:
S: Joanna Wolosz (POL), Marta Bechis (ITA) OH: Miriam Sylla (ITA), Kimberly Hill (USA), Valentina Tirozzi (ITA), Megan Easy (USA)[Currently Injured] MB: Robin DeKruijf (NED), Anna Danesi (ITA), Raphaela Folie (ITA) OPP: Samantha Fabris (CRO), Karsta Lowe (USA), Miyu Nagaoka (JPN)[Currently Injured] L: Monica De Gennaro (ITA)
This teams depth is RIDICULOUS. Wolosz is such a joy to watch. Though plagued with injuries they have still managed to develop younger players and are really a serious contender to defend their league title AND to challenge for the Champions League Crown.
Also...they are my favorite :-)

Busto has a lot of really high upside young players. Gennari (OH) and Botezat (MB) are the other starters. Herbots just turned 19 but she is going to be really, really, really good in a few years. Orro is also healthy again for the first time in a while.

The Italian league is deep with world class setters and opposites.

She's quicker, more physical, and STILL only 20 years old. The last time you saw her at full health she was setting senior international competitions at 17-18 years old - of course she had/has stuff to work on. Malinov is really good, but your repeated trashing of Orro makes no sense.

Rahimova left Pomi and went to Turkey. Pomi signed Skorupa and rumors is that they will sign Maret Lutz from Stanford. I guess they don`t have any faith in Cutino.

Watching Novara match. Carlini is just not getting better. Was taken out near middle of second set when Novara was down by 8, almost came back and won it.
