You need to know against which teams and against each players her aces are coming from. Not every OH in Italy are considered World Class or are NT members. look how many aces she got against the TOP 4 teams. vs Conegliano - Game 2 (4 sets) 0 - Game 1 (3 sets) 0 vs Novara Game 2 (4 sets) 2 - Game 1 (3 sets) 1
vs Busto - Game 2 (5 sets ) 1 - Game 1 (4 sets ) 1 vs Scandicci Game 2 (4 sets) 2 - Game 1 (5 sets) 2 32 sets and only 9 aces. With Team USA she will be serving against players from these TOP teams (plus world class OH from other leagues)....and not against the players from the mid-low-level teams, and that`s where mostly of her aces are coming from. I`m sorry but always have something negative to say. Good stat, but those are other teams/players aren't scrubs. Just curious, what current players would comprise of your 'dream team?' I'd imagine no U.S. players.. It would obviously be led by Adenizia, and only with a setter who would give her 40 swings a match.

They'll probably still find something negative to say, a lot of Hancock haters on this board. I just hope Karch stops being a control freak and allows her to continue with her serve. These stats are not accurate since Hancock used a jump-float serve in the first games, so the game vs Conegliano and the game vs Busto shouldn't be counted. 8 aces in 25 sets, this is right.

Also most likely fair to say if she’s leading the league in aces, she also does well in getting teams out of system. Maybe even against top teams that aren’t comprised of US players.

I'm sure the other players on the list had 10+ aces per match against Conegliano and Novara! It's not like the Italian League uses a round robin format or anything, so all of the players on the top servers list have common opponents...

I remember a few posters back during the 2017 Pan Am saying that Hancock’s serve wouldn’t be effective against better competition. Well, here she is leading stats in serves in one of the best leagues. I’d say she’s pretty effective. They'll probably still find something negative to say, a lot of Hancock haters on this board. I just hope Karch stops being a control freak and allows her to continue with her serve. I’m a longtime lurker, first time poster - I actually noticed this too. A lot of hate towards Hancock and more favorable to Carlini. It’s like when it’s about Carlini, someone will always make excusss but if it’s Hancock, it’s because it’s Hancock. I even saw a post that praised Hancock and made a negative comment about Carlini and another poster completely just said “ok micha...” taking it too personal much?

There you are! Thanks for proving my point. I was merely stating my observation about the posts and not even the players. Obviously that doesn’t matter. Thank you

At this point people seem to have become hypercritical of both. I’d say they’re both top 15 setters, maybe top 10 in the world. Lloyd probably in a similar spot right now. Also depends on the system, which none of them seem like appropriate setters for in the way Glass was. The only setters I would take every day over these two are Wolosz, a couple Serbians, Naz when she’s back, maybe a Brazilian, maybe Ding Xia. In comparison to how are young pin hitter and libero prospects have worked out over the last 5 years, Hancock and Carlini have done exceedingly well. Remains to be seen if either can become one of the best in the world though.

Conegliano and Scandicci are through to the semis. Novara and Monza bounced back to defeat Firenze and Busto Arsizio respectively to force a final match to determine who advances. Anyone know what the bracket looks like? I would imagine Conegliano would face either Monza or Busto A. and Scandicci would face either Novara or Firenze?

The real problem is, are they good enough to take the US to gold in Tokyo? There is still a big question mark about that.

Winning the gold in Tokyo by making a setter change? The only way we win a gold in Tokyo is by Karch having a brain implant and I doubt that will be happening. I guess we can just continue to rave about how great our NCAA players are and how successful they would be if only the right opportunities arose. Next chance for a Olympic gold medal, 2024 and no Karch at the helm. But of course this wouldn't be America if we couldn't dream.

On lvftv, Monza match comes up but Novara match shows "sorry that shouldn't have happened" message where the player should be. I hope it comes up soon.

Monza qualified for the semis and will face Conegliano. Adams had a MVP performance as she ended the match with 1 attack kill...0 blocks. Truly AMAZING performance.
Hancock was fantastic as well....The other middle Melandri got 2 kills.
Americans setters are the best in the world when it comes to setting middles. No wondering why Carlini, Hancock and LLoyd are all TOP in the World.
Carlini was just sent to the bench....But she was having a terrific match. Egonu is the one playing like trash. I`m so glad she declined Novara`s offer to stay because she truly deserves a better team than this. She deserves better teammates.
I can easily see 3 setters making it Tokyo again...AMAZING....I already can taste the GOLD.
oh wait...that terrible fast system will prevent them from setting to OG GOLD....OMG let`s get ride of Karch please.

Egonu looks gassed out. She really is tired, she’s not even celebrating with them winning points.
