Closest finger touch replay I’ve ever seen but I think it did nick her. Anyways Scandicci wins. Best of 5 series though, lots to play and three will be on Novaras court.

Well....I still think Barbolini is to blame here. He just shuffled the pack too much.

I don't understand Barnolini's strategy. If he wants to win, why not start with his main players? If he wants to give up the first match and rest his line-up, why put back his main players on the court in the last three sets? The outcome was that Novara didn't win the match and Egnou didn't get any rest either.

Carlini looked good out there today. She really moved the ball around but started to feed Egonu especially in the 4th set. She also came up with several clutch defensive plays. I am loving her and MBH’s connection. This summer should be a joy to watch the two of them together.

Imoco/Monza today at 2:30 EST. Does Monza stand a chance? Who will Conegliano rest today or will they use all of their starters? Should be a fun match, as always!

Well this match has not even been close so far. It was close in set 2..maybe 10-12 or something like that in favor of Conegliano, then De Kruijf went on maybe an 8-0 run.
Conegliano leads 2-0 (25-16, 25-14)

Imoco is carrying over their stellar play since the upset of ECZ in CL. It looks to be a 3 game sweep over Monza building up to a titanic battle with Egonu/Novara for the championship. Last year Egonu got the Cup and the league title but lost the championship. This year Novara again got the Cup, on a five setter with Carlini on the bench at the end, but Imoco got league and now the battle for the Scudetto is about to commense. The added flavor of this competition is the CL gold. The two team styles couldn't be more different. Next year with Egonu to Imoco this rivalry is lost and we still don't know who will remain for Imoco. One thing I'm sure of it will be hard to duplicate the level of camaraderie that we see from Imoco this year.
For Vakif this could be the end of Zhu era and the end of the Zhu myth of unbeatability. I think they fall back into the pack during the Guidetti Turkish NT era as his loyalties become devided.

Chinese players have an extreme bell curve. Zhu, if she's anything like the past Chinese stars, has likely hit her peak. So many have been great for China for 4-6 years and then quickly disappear it seems.

Semi-Final 2 between Novara and Scandicci about to be underway. Hoping Barbolini pulls his head out of his ass and let’s his team pull out a win. It’s bad enough that they have to play 4/5 matches already and that the first one went to 5 sets. Both teams look to be running on fumes at this point.
