Poor UW. Barely wins with USC missing its two best players.

As I understand it, they do usually account for injuries, but mainly only in the sense that they consider the roster at tournament time and whether there are starters that have recently returned (boost in seed) or starters who are injured for the tournament (reduction in seed). So, you're saying that a win or loss during the season, affected by an injury (or injuries) by either team, would not be considered by the selection committee? Only the roster(s) as of the week leading up to selection day?
It would seem like a lot of info IMO for the committee to consider for every match played during the season and process whether a win/loss was affected by injuries. I've never been on the committee. What I said before is all I've ever heard about it, and that came from reading some old powerpoint slides about the process that were published here on this site.

I didn't see the match. How did 3 starters all get concussed before/in this game?

I would assume it was by something hitting them in the head. That's the usual reason for concussions. The only other reason I know of is to stop or start moving so quickly that your brain smashes into your skull.

Before. It was at the Oregons. Botkin got hit in the head by a ball vs Oregon. She was out for the game vs Oregon State. Then I think Lanier and Mayer-Whalley ran into each other in the Oregon State game. Lanier came out a bit after that and Mayer-Whalley wasn't ID'd as potentially having a concussion until after the game (bc of later symptoms).

It's like that old joke about the guy who lost his 2nd wife. One wife is unlucky. Two is carelessness.
Mike's joke aside, how the heck does this happen? Were they boxing?

Two players ran into each other on the court. Surprised that doesn't happen more often, especially when a couple players are scrambling to make a pancake dig.
Coaching staffs, rightfully, are being extra cautious with players after the Stanford/Hodson case.

Question: Are those the years you started and ended your studies at USC? Or does that represent the attendance at last nights match?

I would expand and say that USC had 3 of it best players missing. Reni in the back row would have been a game changer. I think USC did great all things considered. Baptista stepped up big time. Both middles played well on scoring. Blocking was non-existent. The passing was challenging. That said if you look these girls started a new rotation with 5 days of practice and did well. Botkin will more than likely be back in the line up for Sunday so I feel good about their chances against WSU. Either way very proud of the WOT and how they played.

Wish I had read this thread before making picks this week to see that Lanier and Botkin were both likely out, but then I used coin flips for most of the PAC games anyway, and my coin liked USC.
