Really starting to believe that the Gophers are going to host all the way through and have a clear path to the championship. Seem to be getting better and better, the regions look like they match-up favorably and this team just has a feel of destiny. So excited. Of course this all assumes we can beat Penn State - they might be a little underrated versus previous years. Still #4 in RPI so excited and nervous. Minnesota doesn't have anything to worry about hosting wise, unless the committee is completely incompetent

There may be 2 cracks forming in the at-large door. san diego losing has dropped their RPI from 47 to 52. Good news for K-state who beat TCU & improved their RPI from 52 to 47. K-state has leap frogged over san diego in RPI. If Usc beats Ucla, the bruins will be below 0.500 & ineligible for the Ncaas. If Ucla loses the last spot may be between 49 Hawaii & 52 san diego. My two favorite teams. Both recently lost to Pepperdine (which is now my arch nemesis, or my third favorite team, or maybe both) in five. I’ve watched both teams a lot. I’ll admit I don’t have a great vb eye, and this has nothing to do with whatever metric the committee uses, but I would lean a shade toward Hawaii if they played right now. I think Hawaii has a strong enough serve to keep USD off balance, an area where I think they’ve had consistent breakdowns throughout the season.

What about an at large for Indiana should they beat Purdue Absolutely on Indiana. Three top 25 wins?! That’s as many as BYU and more than Pitt! Nonsense! Pitt beat Louisville, Cal Poly and Washington

Cal Poly and Washington are barely top 25. By no means am i a Pitt hater — just saying what the nitty gritty says. And Indiana lost in 5 to Purdue. Theyre probably just too far out now

the WCC four:
St. Mary's, LMU, Pepp, & San Diego
the WCC is the bubble, lol
not sure I buy St. Mary's resume as all that impressive
LMU beating BYU is really the fly in the ointment

I think the RPI should discount a conference tournament's impact on SOS. Real world example- Marquette has already played St. Johns twice this year, beating them twice. Why should the committee be caring if Marquette can beat St. Johns for a third time? and yet, Marquette will get a SOS boost by getting the pretty decent record St. Johns has amassed added to their SOS right before selection.

Ithe bigger issue is that the RPI rewards a team for playing St. John’s so much in the first place.

Saint Mary’s beat USD twice — and has a better RPI. SMC/Denver is bringing back flashbacks of LSU/High Point. LSU had 1T50 win (High Point) while High Point had 0 T50 wins. I had them both out. Denver only has 1 T50 win (Saint Mary’s). Saint Mary’s has just 1 T50 win if USD finishes 51+. Real tough scenarios

Real tough scenarios and then LMU lost to San Diego twice how one treats LMU - San Diego- St. Mary's is horrific is the answer just to discard LMU's BYU win as a fluke? lol imagine the only team to beat BYU who beat the overall #1 seed being left out you can justify San Diego on their overall SOS I guess
