Zhu Ting was unable to terminate on two separate attacks late in the match. One would have made a big difference.

Zhu Ting was unable to terminate on two separate attacks late in the match. One would have made a big difference. It's kind of an unfair bar to be expected to kill every ball, but that's what we've come to expect from her. She had some huge kills at important moments in the match.

Zhu Ting was unable to terminate on two separate attacks late in the match. One would have made a big difference. Novara wasn't able to receive serve, block obvious setter dumps and missed easy free ball opportunities yet still won the last set. And when Ting wasn't on fire Slotjes was.

I'm glad that free ball didn't turn out to be the decisive moment.

Also I don't think anyone said her name, but Bartsch had a very nice day for Novara, as did Picci actually. Made up for some poor libero play and Egonu being up and down.

Carlini and her trash team are in the final! How’s your stomach doing tangotango? Carlini, as per usual, was god awful today. I hope everyone takes note that she got LUCKY today to get into the final of the biggest club tournament in the world. She must be paying people off. Last years performance setting Scandicci to get into the CEV was also suspect. Two years in a row makes me think she must be rolling deep in bitcoin.

www.cev.eu/Competition-Area/MatchStatistics.aspx?ID=32637 39 points for Egonu. 26 for Zhu. Bartsch 16 points on .343, with solid (and good-for-her) passing. Robinson excellent passing but 7-6-30, and probably would have hit negative again were it not for some heroic block coverage from her teammates.

Last American woman who set in the CEV Final is only an Olympian... she must’ve gotten lucky not setting her middles as well!

Does anyone know if Naz is coming back to the NT team this year? If so, will she displace Cansu right away or no?

It's easy to lose sight because Egonu's presence has such an out-sized influence on a match, but Carlini just seems to be in a better place. She didn't seem to be herself the last two seasons, and she's still not that Carlini, but she seems good now.
