Crocker mysteriously disappeared in yesterday's PSU match. Kat may be back in. She was not in the building for tonight's Rutgers match either. Likely an injury. Bair got the start although Kat did get to play along with everyone else on the bench. Quite the box score.

Back in the office for this week's Rosen Report where the acoustics are still a work in progress. Mark gives us a recap of Penn State/Rutgers along with a preview of the Minnesota/Wisconsin gauntlet. And there is more talk about the Crisler/Keen split. It seems clear at this point that a new facility is not n the works; can we at least get a Taraflex floor? Go Blue!

And there is more talk about the Crisler/Keen split. It seems clear at this point that a new facility is not n the works; can we at least get a Taraflex floor? Go Blue! Yeah, I don't really get it. I once made a home video where I "interviewed" my wife in a small tunnel. During edits, I realized the audio had a "ringing" and "echo-y" sound, as might be expected in an enclosed place like a tunnel. We re-shot it. Most of the time, using noise-cancelling mics help considerably. I bet the student interns doing these interviews are just using the mic that came with the camera. It might even be an iPad they're using. LOL! Kids...

Visited my daughter and saw the Rutgers match. Nice atmosphere. Which was helped by the blowout. One of the many ushers shook my hand and welcomed us! Loved the ball crew that looked like they averaged about 8 years of age! We only partly figured out the rotation with people playing multiple positions, plus everyone getting in. Rutgers was just sad looking.

Is the Sunday match vs Wisconsin really not being broadcasted in any way? It is not listed on BTN Plus?

Is the Sunday match vs Wisconsin really not being broadcasted in any way? It is not listed on BTN Plus? Hmmm. We've had this issue before with Sunday matches at Cliff Keen. Every time we've complained, the message back is that it is "out of our control". I just noticed that the Rutgers match last week wasn't broadcast either. So frustrating. Hopefully this changes between now and Sunday but I'm concerned.
I would even be willing to provide live commentary but I get no signal inside that arena.
I've said this a million times, its shameful that a University with the resources of Michigan cannot provide streaming service for ALL of its athletic programs. It also tells you what the real commitment to the sport is. My guess is that with the Notre Dame football night game on Saturday, all of the Athletic Department resources will be spent. Grrr.

Heartbreaking loss tonight coupled with a missed opportunity against PSU last week has me Blue. I don't see our team competing with Wisconsin right now (hope I'm wrong) which means the Purdue and Illinois matches become critical along with avoiding any major upsets by the bottom dwellers. Every season Michigan usually finds a way to win a match against a top opponent and lose one that they shouldn't. Their margin for error is thin this season considering their projected RPI.
The team is playing better than they did in precon but just can't get over the hump against the teams at the top of the B1G.

Last night was a heartbreaker!! But I think showed the worthiness of some Umich players. Paige Jones was a cannon last night, only two errors in the first two sets... Then 8 the next three... Jess Robinson showed up tonight, FINALLY! and May was off, A LOT! I wish we would've seen Kat Glavinic get some time rather than Kiara. I mean with May struggling as she did... smh

You really couldn't sub out May in that spot with the way she was serving.

It's the Halloween edition of the Rosen Report and Coach is dressed up like a..........volleyball coach. (Boo) The big news this week is Kyler Ludlow's new phone which is providing improved video and audio performance from inside the bowels of the athletic department. Mark has a pretty scary hacking cough today that will frighten off even the most grizzled ghoul. He talks about the heartbreak of Minnesota; the stomping by Wisconsin; the need for a signature win; how they will not look past the Northwestern match as he proceeds to precisely look past the Northwestern match. Go Blue!

A stuffed up Mark Rosen delivers his weekly report from the Crisler Center this week, site of the Maize Out match against MSU on Wednesday. We get a recap of the trip to Illinois and Northwestern, a preview of the week ahead and a couple of curious references to injuries on the team. We'll see how that plays out in the lineup. Go Blue!

RIP to Chuck Raab, the leader and best when it came to support of women's athletics at Michigan. He was a fixture in the front row at Cliff Keen for years. We only saw him a couple of times this season and he was clearly ailing. The #1 fan of Michigan Volleyball.

Nice feature on Paige Jones this week in The Michigan Daily. Sounds like she was overlooked by a lot of teams in her recruitment process because of her size. Her performance in the 4th set on Wednesday night against MSU reminded me of Carly Skjodt's breakout match against Penn State in her sophomore year. She just keeps getting better and is starting to look like an AA candidate.
