Kaitlyn Rogers, Freshman setter is no longer on the Texas A&M roster. Will be interesting to see if she looks to transfer or just retired from volleyball and stays at A&M. This leaves Camille Conner, and S/DS Haley Slocum as the only two setters on roster and they had no 2019 setter recruits.
Also, two other freshman, Little - OH, and Scott - DS are no longer on the spring roster.

Good points. Kan and Ethridge were a great passing duo and I thought Meister before that was really solid. I was waiting for a change this season when they lost a bunch of games there late in the season. The losses to Kentucky and Tennessee were pretty brutal, especially that last set against Tennessee when the wheels just completely fell off and they couldn't pass a decent ball to save their life. Munlyn had a solid year as usual, but like you said the passing wasn't there so there were stretches where she was a non-factor offensively. To your point about Kreklows bringing in a great libero, I was hoping Annika Gereau was that player. Obviously I don't see the practices, but when Gereau was out there I would see some great saves. I wanted there to be a bigger role for her and she had a good sophomore year at Illinois, one of the top teams in the Big Ten. I wonder if she was looking for an even bigger role coming to Missouri, so I hope she isn't too disappointed and ends up leaving. I'm guessing Coach K was expecting a lot of growth out of Sents but I didn't see it and I thought she was a weak link the previous year also. It wouldn't be the first time they stuck with a player for too long... But of course I'm speaking as an outsider and coaching from the couch. I followed Mizzou a bit this year due to the transfers, although I never got to see a match. Interesting to hear that it appears passing was what killed them. Anyway, I just decided to check their roster page and it seem like Annika Gereau is missing from there. I don't know if that is oversight or something else. I decided to check the transfer thread and social media but didn't see anything. Thoughts? I liked her when she was here at IL and was sad to see her go. I would be very surprised if she would transfer yet again though.
Maybe she graduates early? She was a junior this year, I believe. For a minute I thought she was a senior this year and was just about ready to delete this post before I got called an idiot.

She is graduating after the spring semester. From what my daughter told us Annika really enjoyed the team at Missouri and the staff so volleyball playing time or atmosphere wasn’t an issue. The main factor was that she recently found out she could graduate early with a heavy class load this spring. I am pretty sure she wasn’t on scholarship so getting out as soon as you can saves a lot of money.

I understand Miss ST is going to have a spring schedule this year. Anyone know who’s on schedule and when spring ball starts.

I think it’s a matter of geography. Typically, there isn’t much of a travel budget for spring competitions, so you play regional competition. Arkansas, for example, never plays ACC schools in the spring because there are none nearby. They’ve hooked up with Missouri St., Kansas State, and Oklahoma in recent years. Haven’t seen any announcements about this spring yet, though.

I forgot that a lot of the bench players are paying their own way. Thinking about it, that's hard core. College athlete is one thing, but doing all that AND paying for it yourself (or your parents more likely) is extreme. Anyway well best of luck to her then.

Seeing as how you are an Illini fan, I was wondering if you could shed some light on why those three transferred out of a great team that looked to be even better the next year? Was it simply playing time? At least Omazic seemed to have a role carved out for her. Not that I'm complaining as the team graduated a lot of players and I was expecting a rebuilding season. It was quite odd that the three all ended up at Mizzou, though I know that they were all recruited by Missouri at the high school level. I joked that they found a new recruiting pipeline out of Champagne.
I was rooting for the Illini against Nebraska, btw. There aren't many college volleyball teams I dislike but Nebraska tops that short list, lol. Mizzou is like 6 - 70 against them all time.

I get what you are really asking, whether Tamas drove them off. Fair question, a lot of people wondered the same thing including myself. Honestly, I have no idea. I have zero inside connections so all I know is stuff I read on these boards. Besides the three Mizzou transfers there was at least one other to Clemson and maybe one other to Louisville? I can't remember. I just know we had a lot of transfers, supposedly second only to N Carolina last year in total number. Anyway, according to what I read, all but one (maybe two technically) was for playing time. I think Deberg, despite being a high recruit and obviously having a lot of talent, was behind Quade (and Prince too?) and wasn't excelling. I remember one poster speculated right after she announced she was transferring that she seems to be the type of player that flourishes when she is the main offensive weapon and her success at Mizzou seems to bear that out. Omazic was the one that hurt the most and definitely had guaranteed playing time. All that was said was it wasn't bad feelings or whatever just "personal reasons". Out of respect for her privacy, I never dug deeper than that and won't speculate. We were able to land a replacement at the last minute. Personally I don't know if I buy that all the transfers were completely cordial. My guess is Chris style of coaching did not agree with some and that was a factor for a few transfers (I don't know who, just guessing). I don't see that as scandalous or anything, happens every time there is a coaching change. Hambly has a rep for being laid-back and a players-first coach and supposedly Chris Tamas pushes the players more. I would not say Tamas is a task master or anything, based on the social media he seems to keep things light and fun. Despite every game picture of him having this unhappy scowl, every time I have met him he was super friendly, much more outgoing than other coaches I have met (to be fair, Tamas is the only vball coach I have met except for the one time Hambly almost ran me over with a golf cart on a sidewalk). I do think Tamas demands more than Hambly. I also think in his last class here, Hambly took a flier on a lot of recruits that probably were not going to see the floor (note: I have no beef with Hambly, honestly, appreciate all he did and no ill will for leaving. The golf cart thing was a joke although did happen. In the end, I think both Illinois and him benefited). It is weird we had no transfers when Chris came in, then a year later a whole bunch left. My guess, Chris did a great job selling himself and his vision and got all the recruits and players to at least give it shot but some found it just wasn't what they wanted. Also weird how many ended up at Mizzou, although I know Annika and Tyanna were good friends so maybe that played a part. The ultimate weirdness was the basketball team mirrored the volleyball team (or maybe other way around?), hired a new coach the same year as Tamas and a year later half the team transferred out (or went pro or just quit) with a few ending up at Mizzou as well, although to be fair that was a different situation. I fully admit I was very nervous about the 2018 season chances after all the transfers were announced and was expecting a step back from the the previous year. So I was very happy with how things turned out despite the gut punch of the last game. I have wondered if maybe if one or two players had stayed if that would have made a difference. But it's in the books now. Anyway sorry for the long answer, probably more than you wanted to know. I appreciate the support, Mizzou had a good season too. One or two other posters besides me were following and rooting for Mizzou the whole season because of the former players. Do you think they can be do even better this year or is losing Munlyn going too big a set back? Good luck next year, hopefully we both can get revenge on the bug eaters.
Bonus question for everyone who read this whole post: Surprised no one has ventured this yet but based on where things stand now, predictions for this years SEC standings and how many SEC teams make the tourney?
Tit for tat, although I know precisely nothing, my predictions for the Big Ten: I think everyone agrees this is Wisconsin's year. After that and leaving out Illinois because honestly don't know what to expect, I would guess Minnesota, Penn State, Nebraska. After that who knows, maybe Indiana and Ohio State are the most likely to move up, no idea on Iowa or Purdue, MSU should be better, Michigan will be worse. Maryland and Northwestern will probably be at the bottom again. Despite their record, I don't think Rutgers is as bad as everyone thinks and can see them winning a game or two this year but probably still the worst team. As for Illinois, I think they are a dark horse and could finish anywhere between 6th to challenging for first but if I had to guess, will say 3rd. All depends on how well Allison or Diana Brown transitions in. Also curious if Quade repeats her success without Poulter. In terms of teams in the NCAA, I think overall the B1G will be weaker this year. Should still get six in, maybe seven again depending how everyone does in the non-con.

Yes, van dyke left for Louisville. She was a good second during player for Illinois but I think she knew she may never start. She battled for time at Louisville with Megan Sloan, eventually winning the battle in the post season after many switches. Sloan transferred and now van dyke is looking to start for the last 2 years of her career on a good up and coming Louisville team.

I think the maximum amount of teams the SEC gets in is at 7, and trust me when I say that is a huge reach. But I think Kentucky, Tennessee, Mizzou, and Florida are locks, with South Carolina, LSU, and A&M all having the potential to sneak in. South Carolina should only get better, LSU should come out with some fight after such a disappointing season last year, and I think Bird will be able to elevate her Aggies another level.
As far as standings go, I again think the crown will go to Kentucky, Mizzou, Florida, or Tennessee. Kentucky is a clear favorite, but depending on how the schedule works out and how many times each team has to play one another, it could be a dog fight.
Mizzou loses Munlyn, but we have to remember that this time last year they were one of the biggest question marks and they were still able to have a pretty solid season with so many new players. I think that with Caffey back in the middle, the Tigers are going to be a real force to be reckoned with and I don't see them out of contention for the title one bit. As a Mizzou fan I'm biased, but I really think they're going to have a good year. They were only a couple of sets away from passing Florida in the standings last year, and that was with so many sophomores and transfers.
Tennessee is also interesting. Losing Treiber should hurt, but the UNC transfer could fill her shoes well enough to be able to make a strong push under Eve's second year. Hard to imagine what their potential is given how much they improved last season in just one year with Eve. I think
Kentucky is Kentucky and it's definitely their's to lose as things sit right now, so it'll be interesting to see how the cookie crumbles.
I think Florida's fate depends on how Mary handles the influx of transfers and pins. Does the addition of Ceasar create drama on the team? Do players transfer out? Florida has the biggest question mark to me. If Hall is able to stay healthy and the setting is fixed, it's hard not to think they will at least take second.
My standings would be as follows: 1. Kentucky 2. Mizzou 3. Tennessee 4. Florida 5. Texas A&M 6. South Carolina 7. LSU 8. Georgia 9. Alabama 10.Arkansas 11. Ole Miss 12. Auburn 13. Mississippi State
