We seemed to be swinging more aggressively tonight, although it can be hard to tell on a computer screen. What was the difference?

Prince gets in the match -- standing O from the crowd Awesome moment in Huff- and cool that she got the clinching kill for that set! Glad you're healthy, Beth!

I wasn't able to watch this match but just saw the scores. Very impressive. Indiana is a pretty decent team. They beat Kentucky (at Kentucky) when they were #15, and they went 1-3 against Wisconsin (at Wisconsin) and 2-3 against Purdue.
Glad to see Prince in the lineup again, though briefly. I really like Micah Allison at OPP and hope she gets more time there. I believe she can become the X-factor for this team in the playoffs.

I don't know if I give Allison the nod over Cooney at Opposite. I know Cooney is doing a hell of a job over on the left, but I really like her on the right.

But i'm not sure if Prince is really going to be back this season. If not, Cooney has stepped up enough to be a decent OH2. What I like about Allison is that she brings in a quickness and lefty hitting angles on the right side that make Illinois a much more dangerous team. I see her (and Brown) gaining confidence in leaps and bounds. I think they're gaining momentum for a deep run.

I thought Mica looked good. She hits with authority and had several nice blocks. I think she'll improve over time. IIRC, she mostly played setter for Auburn so it will take some time to get her sea legs back as a hitter.

This next stretch of games on the road is going to be a bear. I'll be happy if we can go 1-2.

Shout out to our AD, Josh Whitman, for rarely missing a home volleyball match. And, he stays through the whole match. I am no longer surprised to see him at volleyball matches, although I am surprised when he's at Huff following an early Saturday morning football game like last Saturday vs. Michigan. The football game was at 11am, and I am certain AD Whitman was at Memorial Stadium much earlier than that. He was in the stands at Huff prior to the 7pm start time for the volleyball match. and stayed to the end. Luckily for Whitman, Illinois won 3-0. Volleyball match attendance has been a regular thing for Whitman since he became our AD in 2016. His wife also almost always accompanies him which says something for her since she now has a 3 year old and a fairly new baby at home. I am told that Josh's parents are the older couple that sit right behind him at matches.
