Leadership training? Seriously? Lord!!! Do you think that's strange? Foecke and Maloney did it as well.

It just doesn't seem as genuine but....I thought bringing it a sports phychologist was odd at first.

Some people can have natural leadership qualities, but it's rare for someone to be a fully developed leader without training. It's no different than business managers going through leadership training. It may just seem odd because athletics has a lot of antiquated notions about what constitutes best practices and is just now catching up. In the end, it's all organizational development. It's just one facet to what Cook means when he talks about building the right culture.

If Nebraska didn't have a sports psychologist and do leadership training, someone else would've won their last two national titles. I can promise you that.

If only every program treated the captain position so respectfully. Knowing their captains have been through such training commands respect from teammates which would not be a factor had the formal training not been attended. I am so impressed with this process. How can this be anything less than a tremendous benefit to the team, the coaches and to the two so blessed to have been selected? This is now a resume enhancement for both of them. Not getting the “LOL” at all.

We had leadership training in high school for football, although obviously not as extensive as what they do I'm sure.

Not getting the “LOL” at all. it demands respect that they have gone through this training? I thought you earned respect among teammates by being a supportive and selfless teammate. Maybe that does need trained? The LOL was in gest because I had never heard of such a thing. I realize that college sports is a big business and especially for a program like Nebraska, every advantage they can get makes sense.
