2019 schedule is out! Tough again, at first glance...13 teams that qualified for the NCAA tourney last year. Interesting that there are 5 non-conference repeats from last year: Colorado, Washington, Lipscomb, Wyoming and Iowa State. And good to see them back in Carver-Hawkeye a couple of weekends before B1G portion of schedule begins. hawkeyesports.com/schedule.aspx?path=wvballGO HAWKS!!

I’d like to see it. Iowa has had some teams in past 5-7 years that were good enough to make ncaa but could not get it done. The league will be stronger this fall and I’m not sure Hawks will be as good, relatively speaking.

GoHawks! This might be a breakthrough (NCAA) season for the Hawkeyes! Iowa scheduled some decent mid majors that are good for RPI but still beatable. That’s good. We won’t know until all the schedules are released, but there is a chance that Iowa will just need to be .500 to make the tournament

We need to avenge the Butler and Lipscomb type of loses of the past 2 seasons and we’d be in good shape. Would you agree?

And sprinkling in a couple of wins against the bigger dogs like Wisconsin again. I think the middle of the B1G pack is a bit weaker this year; Iowa could conceivably get in front of Michigan and Purdue.

I could have sworn you guys were a bubble team last season along with Maryland. You had a top 10 win while Maryland had a top 15(20?) win, overall finished JUST under .500, but your conference record was not above .500. For how crazy the B1G was last season, I would've thought you guys would get in, similar to USC in 2016.
But you guys have been forming a solid foundation and continue to get more talent. With Orr for another two seasons, I can easily see at least one berth.

So is Meghan B coming back or no? I sure do not have any inside intel but would think she would be coming back. Her senior year. Her little (well, as little as 6' 5" can be) sister is on team with her. Played a pretty huge role in spring ball. Has always seemed to find way onto the court in her years with the Hawks, although not always perhaps in as prominent of a role as she may have wished it to be. Assuming Hoye is out for good, we are down to three OHs this fall so would sure think there could playing time for all three, although the other two (Hughes and Hansen) definitely have talent. Guess those are just my observations and thoughts. Not sure what others may think. I could be off base. Would hate to not have Meghan with the Hawks. Really appreciate what she brings to the team.

I believe her intention at the end of last season was to return for another year. I hope she does! Even though like you said, she hasn't always seen consistent time on the court, she has been incredibly valuable as a utility player... we saw Hoye with breakout performances last season, could be Buzz's turn this year!
