I imagine there will be several of these, whether they are public or not. Of course, if the rule passes they won't be able to talk to their school for years - in this case, three years.

You can't evaluate talent at that level. My HS alma is one of the top schools in the state, and both of their feeder schools are hilariously bad. This is a silly argument. Did Shaffmaster turn out to be a bust? There are schools that recruit that young simply because they think a kid has potential and they are hoping, but that is risky. Then there are basically sure things, like Shaffmaster and Landfair. Don't apply your high school evaluation from Ohio on the entire country.

Scope out the playground at recess. Check out nap time. You'll know who can bring it. Success never sleeps.

While I don’t think Shaffmaster is a “bust” I’m not completely sold on her abilities as either a hitter or setter. And re: Landfair she’s tall and lanky but I still don’t think she moves that fast

GOOD GRIEF - take a breath; step back; Really, Truly realize just what is being promoted here! "Vader" is correct - What next? Check babies' cribs, to see if they can spike a toy ball?

6-2 OH that is playing up 2 levels with the 16U team for an excellent California club - I don't think there is much risk in this commitment for BYU.

Scope out the playground at recess. Check out nap time. You'll know who can bring it. Success never sleeps. Cook's recruiting staff blankets all middle school playgrounds across the state of Nebraska and looks for girls who are head and shoulders taller than everyone else. Contact is then made to determine volleyball suitability.

LOL skip right over 2022 and go right for 2023
Yes it does seem like things are picking up ahead of the rule changes.

3 years ago in April, Melanie Shaffmaster committed in 8th grade and became the earliest commit by nearly 2 months (as reported by PV). Rich Kern just listed the first 2023 commit, 3 months earlier than Shaffmaster. Is this the first of a wave of commits to beat the vote? Will commits like this make the vote more likely to pass? Who is the commit?
