Again, this team's overall athleticism is higher than vast majority of teams out there. Buy stock in them now. Field and Beranek played an AVP America (Next) in Huntington Beach a few weeks ago and won it. They beat Clemens/Maarek in the final. Third went to Duncan Budinger/Friend and the Partain brothers. avpamerica.com/VA-Beach-Volleyball-Event-Results.aspx?EventID=5389Field is considering both Beranek and Loomis for AVP tournaments this season. Eric also heard that the AVP may be considering adding more 24 team draw tournaments, which would be great for the up and comers. Hard to find a bigger Ty fan on this board than me, but given this choice I’m taking Beranek. These guys could stay together for a while and quickly ascend to mid to bottom tier main draw team who could grow together. Thinking long term you go with Eric.

Love me some Loomis too but Eric is absolutely the play going forward, especially if they expand field to 20-24 teams. Loomis would be smart points play to avoid always nutty qualifiers.

Ty gives you maybe slightly better side out ability right now, better serving and probably better setting but he’s not getting better and Beranek is improving at a very rapid pace while having far superior defense already. Beranek and Field appear to either be roommates or at the least very close and chemistry probably favors this pair as well. I think Troy has to take the player on the rise. Can’t miss the train when it comes through your station headed in the direction you want to go.

In a year, Troy will hopefully be playing with someone much better than either of these guys. In the last two years, Loomis won 1 event, Beranek won 1 MD game, I think we should be cautious giving a guy too much credit based on some nice CBVA play

From a developmental standpoint Loomis may also get Troy some serves. Playing with Beranek, he could go whole events without passing a ball

Also, Loomis with the experience can help Troy a Ton, Troy would have to play the vet role. And G2s point about shooting higher for long term shouldn't be overlooked. Eric would be lucky to have Ty's career, he may end up better, but i'd bet the under right now.

Heard from Troy that he'll be partnering with Bombgren now, tough break for Loomis.

Beranek is hosed here, could he grab Lee? Not many other blockers available unless Yoder is back.

I think Loomis is probably better than Brian, havent seen either play enough recently to say 100% but most likely, but I think Brian's midwestern steadiness may benefit Field some as opposed to Loomis who can be a little up and down (and his up is where he is better than Brian). Field is flighty enough on his own without a second somewhat volatile personality in the mix. (although that could also be a perception of Ty thats outdated)

No, I'm pretty sure Troy was talking about Tim. I guess Tim wants to start defending.

No, I'm pretty sure Troy was talking about Tim. I guess Tim wants to start defending. If anything, this should be a split blocking team as both can play both positions should this be accurate. Chaim might have to block some too depending on who he picks up if this is true.
