Samford has been a solid team for years, but LMU should not be losing this match. Samford stole someone's spot last year when they beat ETSU twice, winning the conference tournament. ETSU was an at-large. LMU took a very close third set 25-22 to go up 2-1.

Yes, Teague looks so much better this year! Eleven players into the match so far for LMU, but no Megan Rice? Hmm. Isn’t she healthy now?
Sanford up 15-11 in the fourth set. Walters gets a couple quick kills on the slide for LMU but Samford up 19-14 now.

It kills me everytime I see a MB soft block a ball and then not know where it is...and it’s right on top of their head. I believe beach volleyball helps train MB’s to always know where the ball is.
Samford up 24-16 now and forcing a 5th set. (25-16 4th set.)

I caught up some 18's club videos this past weekend. You know who I think it being underrated? Rose Booth, heading to LMU. She wasn't even a top 100 senior ace. I think this is going to end up being a miss. she's leading LMU offensively so far to start the season.

What drama did I miss here at 13-10 Samford in the 5th? 11-11 I was muted, but it looked like the officials took about 10 minutes of discussing the point at 13-10, and obviously changed it.

The officials are having serious struggles with this LMU match. Samford up 12-11 and appeared to get to 13-11, but LMU challenging a block touch. And LMU gets the very important call, tying the match at 12-12
Samford tools the block to go up 13-12. Booth ties it at 13-13.

And LMU gets the very important call, tying the match at 12-12 Teague was VERY Close to foot-faulting on that serve there, thought we might see another challenge if Samford didn't get that point.

Ace from Boehle puts LMU at match point 14-13.
Booth now has 18 kills hitting .308 in her debut.
Samford is having so much success tooling the block. I wonder if LMU will be able to continue running a 5-1 with a 5'8 setter. In their freshman season, Reid and Pritchard, who are both small and both very good setters, did well with a 6-2. LMU seems to have a lot of depth at the pins this season, and it seems that they could be quite successful with a 6-2 and tall blockers.
5th set is now tied at 17 all.
