Takeaways from USD Spring Scrimmage: MB - Lose Kaity Edwards and Addie Picha. Megan Jacobsen already showed she’s up to task with Edwards out most of last season. Add Lauren Turner and I think they are fine at this position. OH - Lose Lauren Fuller. A lot of young players with plenty of experience look fine. Thana Fayad was back and hitting harder than anyone today - really hope she is healthy and contributing next season. Will freshman Grace Frohling have an immediate impact? Setter - Probably full speed ahead with a Newsome and Madill 5-2. They will only get better and better. Libero/DS - Hmmm. Kelli Barry was MIA today. Annie Benbow sidelined. Senior Megan Priest was libero for 7 of 8 sets. Payton Douglass took the 8th. Even without any more recruits or transfers, I think they’ll do pretty well with what they’ve got. But a late breaking, surprise pick-up would be nice. Tastad to USD is what I have heard from someone whos usually accurate with their info. We will see though

So it would be helpful if the Tastad transfer rumors are true. Also, re-Lauren Turner, the USA national team tryouts are open to anyone who wants to attend, though often coaches will encourage specific players to attend.

USD was really slow to release their schedule last year. Maybe other WCC teams are in the same boat. For those hungry for info, I picked this up on another thread - ncaavbscores on twitter has a pinned tweet that is building schedules for DI teams and it's cross-referenced, so you can start to pick up some info even if your team hasn't released their schedule yet. WCC schedule are in the first link: Conferences 1-11. Also, if your like me and don't have a twitter, know that you can still browse twitter and get to the info. In the spreadsheet linked to twitter, yellow highlight indicates unconfirmed. So far, for non-Con schedules we've got (as of 6/3/19): USD – Hawaii, Washington, St. Johns, Nebraska, UCSB, Harvard, LaSalle, SDSU, LBSU BYU (released) - Boise State, Utah Valley, Marquette, LIU Brooklin, Sam Houston, Weber, Wichita St, Texas, VCU, Utah, Stanford LMU - Samford, Arizona, App St, High Point, Denver, Nebraska, Belmont, Butler St. Mary’s – Utah, Cal Poly, Kentucky, S. Utah, Boise State, MTSU, Cornell, Utah State Portland (released) - CS Northridge, Weber, UNLV, Idaho, WSU, Utah State, Grambling, NMSU, Lamar, Portland St (2x) Pacific – San Jose, Montana, UC Davis, NMSU, UTEP, Texas Tech, Idaho, UNLV, Butler, Belmont Gonzaga – UConn, Navy, Air Force, Grand Canyon, Ball State, Montana, New Mexico, Seattle, OSU, Cal Baptist, Nevada, S. Utah Santa Clara – Marist, N. Colorado, San Jose St, Montana, Denver, Air Force San Francisco – UC Riverside, Fort Wayne, Nevada, Utah State, Cornell, CS Bakersfield, Fresno St, UC Davis Pepperdine -

Do you know if Fayad is actually a senior in terms of eligibility? Didn't she miss entire Sophomore year and maybe even Junior year? Yes, she was pretty much out for entire Sophomore and Junior seasons. I feel like I saw her take the floor once or twice last year, but stats aren’t available on the team page. At any rate, there’s no indication that she was red-shirted in either of the last two seasons, and she is listed as a Senior on the current roster.

Texas, Illinois St., Utah, Cal Poly, Pittsburgh...so far with two weekends missing ^Added Pepperdine's available schedule. Santa Clara, with half of their pre-conference available, has scheduled pretty easy this year, with their new coach and young team. Gonzaga, San Francisco, Portland and Pacific also scheduled fairly easy. St. Mary's bit off a tough first weekend vs Kentucky, Cal Poly and Utah, and Pepperdine bit off a tough third weekend (Utah, Cal Poly, Pitt). But so far, it looks like most WCC teams should come out of their pre-conference schedules with winning records. Hope that many of them have scheduled for good RPI to get multiple teams into the NCAA Tournament again this year.

Over a month earlier than last year. ^Added above - USC and Arkansas were the last adds I didn’t have last week.

Re-posting and adding to the partial schedule from usdfan 's earlier pre-conference schedule collection. Santa Clara also released their schedule last week. Pepperdine and LMU schedules just added. Waiting on St. Mary's (4th weekend), USF (first weekend), Pacific (adding to the 10 known matches?) Gonzaga has 12 matches scheduled but haven't released their official schedule. USD has upped their pre-conference schedule to 11 matches, as opposed to their typical nine. Most other WCC schools have always played 11 or 12. The Google docs link where schedules are being added as they are known is here. USD –(11 matches) Hawaii, Washington, and St. Johns at Hawaii; Arkansas and Nebraska (at home); UCSB, Harvard and LaSalle at UCSB; USC, SDSU and LBSU at home. ScheduleBYU (11 matches) - Boise State, Utah Valley, Marquette at home; LIU Brooklyn, Sam Houston, Weber St at home; Wichita St, Texas, VCU at Wichita St; At Utah, At Stanford. ScheduleSt. Mary’s (8 matches so far) – Utah, Cal Poly, Kentucky, S. Utah, Boise State, MTSU, Cornell, Utah State (missing 4th weekend schedule) Portland (11 matches) - CS Northridge, Weber St., UNLV at Weber St; Idaho, WSU, Utah State at home; Grambling St., NMSU, Lamar at NMSU; At Portland St, then Portland St at home. Utah Santa Clara – (12 matches) FIU, Marshall, Indiana at Indiana; CSUN, CSU Bakersfield, Fresno St. at Fresno St; San Jose St, N. Colorado, Marist at home; Montana, Denver, Air Force in Denver. ScheduleSan Francisco (11 matches ) – Denver, Seattle, at Denver; UC Riverside, Fort Wayne, Nevada at home; Utah State, Cornell at home; CSU Bakersfield, Fresno St, UC Davis at CSU Bakersfield. Per the spreadsheet on D1 transfers, the following players are no longer on the 2019 rosters:
Erin Anthony, Jr. setter, San Francisco. (ran a 5-1 for the Dons as a freshman and was half of a 6-2 as a sophomore). Smallish but spunky setter. Any insight to where she has gone? Edit: has returned to home state of Texas, not clear if playing volleyball. Also for USF, Tanner Pemberton and Saige Madden no longer on the roster.
For BYU, Emily Lewis-Bushman (SR MB/Opp) and Allison Stapleton (Jr MB) are no longer on the roster.
Offseason transfers out of the WCC included:
Kaitlyn Lines, OH, Pacific to Marquette Izzy Guzik, OH, Portland to Ole Miss Cali Thompson, Setter, Portland to UCLA Carly Lowry, OH, San Francisco to Arizona Beach
Transfers IN included:
Kennedy Kaminsky, MB, E. Wash. to Pacific, Kaelyn Saeler, MB, Bucknell to Pacific Jessie Brigham, L, Boise St. to Portland Callie Whitney, L, Salt Lake CC to BYU
Others?

Thanks. Added it to the schedule above. There are a couple of errors in the online schedule, with the middle of three weekend away matches being listed 'at home', when they are clearly away.
