Tough break for those guys. Two weeks and four points and their month could have been extremely different. Adrian goes out too, fairly easily. I wonder if travel affected either of those teams. That's their game G2, neither of them possesses lethal skills in any one area, both are solid sideout players but manufacturing points isn't their strong suit. They rely on teams making mistakes, otherwise it's gonna be razor-close every single time. I hope they're getting a stipend from someone because these travel costs are adding up. Do they actually think they're going to Toyko? Delusional if so.

Any team with aspirations should beat China, but China's blocker is one of those guys who, if he were from a country like Brazil or the US and wasnt limited to his much weaker partner, could be something.
His athleticism is what I was expecting from Chase when it was announced he was coming on tour. He gets off the ground so easily and smoothly

I agree on their lack of ability to put pressure on other teams though. Reid and Theo are close to unique among the current teams in that respect. Casey/Chase, Billy/Miles, Ryan/John, Stafford/Billy etc. all have stretches where siding out against them is just too easy

Tri took over USAV’s IG stories yesterday and he said they moved into the main draw hotel. Sounds like unless the day before comes and the team makes it into the main draw, then FIVB pays for their hotel. But most teams get there a few days earlier to practice and adjust. In the case of Sx2, they’ve practiced with teams from Qatar, Switzerland, Austria, etc. I do worry Dalcena facing off them in the first pool play match...

What are the thoughts on H. Mol/C. Sorum? Do they do well or not? 9th place most likely. My prediction: 1) Evandro/Bruno - I love this team 2) Phil/Nick - They should be motivated since they haven't played and need points 3) Holland - Always solid. 4) Germany/Qatar

Desperately too. From the 1 seed to the 17 seed. 😅 Now, Jake and Taylor can rest assured. No other USA team will surpass them and in April, they will still be in the main draw in Xiamen. As much as teams hate going to China, for sure Dalcena will have to make this trip...

As Grimalt primos are riding high, gold in Sydney and actually made it out of qualifiers, I would not be surprised if they beat Doppler/Horst, who last year had mostly 5ths and 17ths and most recently a 25th in The Hague.

You are probably right about them. For some reason I tend to discount how good the Russians are as compared to the top Brazilians, Norway and a few others, but they just keep winning
