Nice comeback from UCLA on #2.
UCLA has surprisingly won the first set on 1 and 3.

I hope UCLA's #3 clinches for them. They've struggled against USC all season, so it will be nice for them to finally win.

That P2 is over. Cannon/Slater may have got a bit over confident with that 15-10 lead and allowed Sponcil/Justine to rally.
We won't even get to finish watching the collegiate best pairs in the nation.
Flight 3 also over, Poletto keeps looking down after missed blocks not liking that body language.

]I've always disliked the current championship match format. If its a double-elimination leading into the championship match, it should be double-elimation for the title. Just my opinion. UCLA will be at a distinct disadvantage vs. USC in tomorrow's final, just as FSU was at a disadvantage last year. The winner of the winner's bracket has to play first game/cold in the Championship game. The winner of the losers bracket will have already gotten used to playing in Sunday's conditions (wind primarily), and will be on an emotional roll due to winning the day's first game. You can't really say the loser's bracket winner will be tired... an hour or hour and fifteen is just a good warmup -- a warmup UCLA will not have had, and FSU didn't have last year. Single elimination championship game is a terrible format that disadvantages the winner's bracket winner. Having watched the toll extra games take on the players coming out of the contenders bracket, I’d say there is a huge disadvantage to that team. At one point in the broadcast it showed that UCLA had played something like 1300 points during the tournament, while USC had played close to 1900. UCLA only had to play one match on Saturday. Then one on Sunday. USC had to play 4 across those days. And, it’s not a cool breeze at Gulf Shores. It’s in the mid 80s and humidity is around 80%. It’s brutal. So, congrats to UCLA for winning out of the contenders bracket last year and doing it the easy way this year. It would have been fun to see those teams duke it out with equal rest, but USC shouldn’t lose to Stetson on day one and things might have been different.

Ahem, Coach Whine, your season long winning streak was broken by whom and where? By USC on neutral territory at the PAC-12 North Invitational at Stanford on April 7th. So USC won the only time they faced each other on neutral territory. USC and UCLA faced each other 5 times this season and the only match that didn’t go 3-2/2-3 was UCLA winning 4-1... where? At UCLA of course! Bring it, Coach Whine! I like the Bruins chances of losing with such an illogical coach. What team doesn’t play 10-20% better at home?!? Coach Whine’s statement is so disrespectful to FSU, Cal Poly, and Hawai’i. I hope those teams use Whine’s complete disregard for their teams’ chances as motivation. At least the Bruin players have already been quoted twice as saying they like being in the losers bracket. How did this work out for you?

They played great up and down the pairs! Doesn’t change Coach Whine’s lack of sense with his comments... 🤗 i did find it interesting that after the dual was sealed and the players all piled on top of each other, CSM went wandering around with no one to celebrate and eventually high-fived his assistant coaches.

#2 and #5 first with the emphasis on #2. Then #1,3,4 with emphasis on #1. This way you get to watch and two best each has to offer and allow for either #1 or #2 to be part of the win. Right now if 3, 4, 5 win their dual first, #1 and #2 is meaningless. I prefer that they play all five at once, like in the early rounds. They shouldn't make some players wait, just for TV. Give them all a chance to be the deciding point. TV can switch from court to court depending on what's happening on each. That's just me.
