If I were in Donna Heinel’s position, would I:
1. Get others involved in the scam to facilitate the process and the cover-up? She would remind them, “if I go down, you go down.”
-OR-
2. Get the least number of people involved? Remember, loose lips sinks ships. Or, too many loose ends. Something to do with “loose...”
I personally would get the least number of people involved because, in the end, someone will get a conscience. Or someone will be disgruntled and be that whistleblower. Or someone will want a bigger cut and if you say “no,” they’ll turn on you. Or someone will get stupid and careless and get caught and will voluntarily be the star witness.

Pay to get your child into school = not a scandal Pay to get your child on an a varsity roster = a scandal its not? They are still paying to get their kid into a university that the kid didn't qualify for. I’m not saying it’s ok, but it’s not a new idea or super surprising. In my mind, it’s not a scandal unless it’s shocking in some way. Is it disappointing? Definitely

True northern California (not the pseudo northern California of the bay, which ignores the top 1/3 of the state) along with southern Oregon is an odd place. It's different up there. State of Jefferson. Politically completely disconnected from what people typically think of as Northern California (Greater Bay Area).
I just laugh at these. Washington and Oregon both have movements by people on the east side of the state to form new states. In both cases, the new states would probably be typical "red" states and it would leave western WA and OR even much more "blue" than they are now. But of course Congress would never allow this. Nor will they allow DC or Puerto Rico to become states. At best, they *might* work a deal where they allowed one of these new "red" states at the same time as they allowed one new "blue" state like DC. That would not disrupt the existing balance in the Senate. But it would reduce the absolute power of every existing Senator by 1/50th for every state they add, and no current Senator is going to be keen on that.

Heinel's court date is pending ... will she show or is she already in Ecuador?

If Donna Heinel is smart she hires Gloria Allred who will turn this entire thing into a attack on the LGBT community of which Donna is a leading light. If Donna was really smart she would hire Mark Geragos to defend her. I would have recommended Mr. Johnnie Cochran but he has left this planet. Or hire Michael Avenatti or Lanny Davis and it'll be 100% about Trump.

And BTW, I can think of a lot worse places to be living.

Hmmmm.....I don't know about that. Mt. Shasta and Rainer are both stratovolcanoes are they not? Both are part of the Cascade range? Hehehe. As for climate, yeah, you are probably right. Although the very northern coastal part of California does seem to have more in common with say Oregon than the rest of California.... True northern California (not the pseudo northern California of the bay, which ignores the top 1/3 of the state) along with southern Oregon is an odd place. It's different up there. Interesting. I'm sure there are always weird corners and strange atypical locations that goes against what most of the state is like for each state in the US.

Crap. I’ve already used my free articles for LA Times. Loughlin and Huffman have apparently hired big deal attorneys, but I can’t access the article 😐

Here: "Huffman was initially represented by Hollywood’s top criminal defense attorney, Blair Berk, but because the case is in Boston, she will be defended by Marty Murphy of Foley Hoag, while Loughlin is represented by Perry Viscounty of Latham & Watkins."

It is clear in Federal law that no state can be split into multiple states without both approval of the state legislature and also approval of Congress.
