He's not going to finish. I hope he leaves an outline for someone else to pick up the slog. I made the decision years ago to not read them until/if they ever get finished even though I own the first 5 books. It is a problem. You can't have this much time in between books without re-reading them.

Larger point is that I think Dany deserved better than people rooting for her to be killed. But my expectations for this thing were obviously too high.

It only hinders what she was trying to accomplish.

You do realize that what happened last night was WRITTEN, right? That someone made a choice that this would be what her character did? I think it was a terrible choice -- and you rooting for her to die is part of the reason why it was a terrible choice.

This final season was the equivalent of a sprinter falling down a few meters before the finish line, or trap setting an under-sized OH at the pin on match point. It seems as though the writers just wanted it to be over with and to be able to move on to whatever their next opportunity was.

You can't have this much time in between books without re-reading them. I'm having this problem also with Patrick Rothfuss and the Kingkiller Chronicles (trilogy). The first book, The Name of the Wind came out in 2007, the second book, A Wise Man's Fear, released in 2011, and book 3, The Doors of Stone (working title I believe) has yet to even have a release date. It's been 8 years and counting...

That's here AND there, actually.

There is this: <Ramsey/Theon clip snipped.> I wish all the people complaining about Sansa's conversation with The Hound would reflect back on Theon's journey. Sansa was in no way saying she was glad she was raped. She was only saying that it made her what she is. No one is endorsing rape as character development. Besides that plotline was where the writers screwed up, not her talking about it after the fact.

and beside, the means of the slaughter she carried out won't even create any desirable ends. It only hinders what she was trying to accomplish. You don't think she is feared now? I think she is. Mission accomplished. And, again, it's fiction. It doesn't hinder anything at all if the writers decide it doesn't.

Is it just me or are some here just a little too attached to the show?
