Yes, I’m serious... and I’m correct. The Butlers do not receive any income from the SPVB Program. Nor do any funds somehow make their way into their personal legal defense. Which is just a dumb claim that really shouldn’t warrant a response. I feel like you have to be making a semantic argument here. You might technically be right that the revenue from the volleyball club doesn't go to the Butlers because club volleyball doesn't make a lot of money. However, what DOES make a LOT of money are the camps and tournaments. So 'Great Lakes Volleyball' would be where the Butlers generate income. For example, when they host a tourney with 50 of their own teams in it, Sports Performance Volleyball writes a check for like $40,000 to Great Lakes Volleyball for entrance fees. However, that income wouldn't be there if it weren't for Sports Performance Volleyball Club, sooo... If I recall correctly, the money-making entity was the building, including the Volleyshop concessions, etc. The club, for tax purposes, "paid rent" to the building, and all equipment was sold to the players through the Volley Shop. So while the Butlers may not make money from the club, they make money from ownership of the Great Lakes Center.

So is this the first time Rick is admitting to having sex with 16 and 17 year olds? As far as I have read, the Butlers have always claimed that the girls were all 18 and he was no longer coaching them. Of course anyone that bothered to read the love letters knew that was a lie. So the Butlers were calling those girls/women liars for decades. Now they are finally admitting that they were lying for decades. Yes, I realize that he has not admitted to rape. But I think this is big news and if I were judging this case, it would set his trust level extremely low. I thought that was interesting too, so I checked the document. Actually, he didn't admit to it. At the risk of over-simplification, the point of Butler's motion was to ask the court to accurately describe what has been alleged.

It seems more plausible that they wanted the records changed so that when he get to give his deposition the records are accurate. Otherwise, it was just a waste of time to have something changed if they felt the case is going to be dismissed.

If there was an official judicial opinion somewhere that stated that I had been accused of a crime, I'd want that corrected. I don't understand the point you're trying to make about the depositions.

If everything that Muller has alleged is false then why go after one small detail regarding the age. We all know that one of the Butlers wants to tell their story under oath so lets all hope it happens. If Rick is given the chance to say they were 16 not 15 then he deserves the chance to say that under oath. Would you like to hear what he has to say under oath? If not please explain why not. I do agree that if an official judicial opinion stated information that was 100% false, I would want it corrected. I don't believe that anyone would wait years to have it corrected. I think it would be hours or days.

The Opinion he is seeking to correct was March 13 of this year. He filed his motion a couple weeks later. Please don’t misunderstand me, I think he’s been lying for decades and I don’t support him. I was merely explaining that I read the motion that was quoted above and what it actually said. It’s just damage control; he didn’t admit anything. I think he might be beginning to realize that he’s finally going to have to admit that he had sex with players who were under 18. He wants to avoid anything out there suggesting that they were under 16 (and I don’t honestly remember ever hearing that).

In 2018 I shared with the group that Rick would pull all of his teams if he was not allowed to coach in AAU's. Fast forward to 2020 and SPRI pulled out of AAU's. I respect the decisions to pull out, but question the reason as Rick posted a chart that Covid-19 was no worse than the normal flu. A few days later they pull out. I took a lot of grief for not sharing who said he was going to stop his teams from going. If SPRI is back in the GLC running events and passes going to AAU's it make me wonder what the reason not going to AAU's.

And I imagine they would be going if Illinois was allowing gatherings that would allow their teams to practice in preparation for AAUs. My understanding is that isn’t the case. I’m all for criticism, but I think this is one case when there are other reasons behind it that are more likely.

Pritzker isn’t allowing teams to practice. Hello?!? Gatherings of the numbers that practice at GLC during season are strictly prohibited and probably won’t be allowed for MONTHS based on the phasing in of Restore Illinois. But congratulations on making your entire reason for existing on this and so many other threads apparent once again. Seriously hysterical. So what Rick posted about this not being much worse than the flu. Do you know how many people have posted that same nonsense??! Who cares. If he sent his kids to the big show you’d criticize that as well.

I just reviewed all of my posts and I have to say, I have some others that were dumber than my last post and those are just mine and if I had more time I would also review your posts too. I would encourage everyone to click and read all of my posts. Just thought if Rick was posting "nonsense" it is important. I also was thinking with so many people out of work, one or more would now consider representing the class. Just my thoughts. Yes this post just topped my last one so no need to point out the obvious.

I feel like you're overinflating a simple FB post. Many people feel (may I say wrongly) that COVID is the same as the flu. These are people who know no one in the medical field that is being affected by caring for these patients. I don't think Rick posting anything like that has any bearing on the decision for SPRI to pull out of their usual winning tournament. I think the Powers That Be politically had way more bearing on that decision making process.
As another poster pointed out: SPRI still showed up at AAUs in 2019 despite Rick Butler not being able to step foot on the court. I think your paralleling the decision to pull out of a tourney that is going to see far decreased numbers of teams vs prior years to some hypothesis about Rick pulling his teams out of AAUs because he's not allowed is beyond a stretch.
You may be right…there's other posters consistently making dumber posts than your post so I will stand corrected on that. However it's in the top 100 for sure.

I hate to being this thread back up but..SPVB is back with Mizuno. So much for Mizuno dropping them over the allegations.

I hate to being this thread back up but..SPVB is back with Mizuno. So much for Mizuno dropping them over the allegations. Depends on what 'with' means. Regardless of the situation, SPVB should be allowed to purchase equipment and apparel. Is it more than just them going back to buying Mizuno gear (with a standard discount that comes with buying in bulk)?

Regardless of the situation, SPVB should be allowed to purchase equipment and apparel. Is it more than just them going back to buying Mizuno gear (with a standard discount that comes with buying in bulk)? They signed a multi year contract with Mizuno. I’m not completely in the know anymore but I’d suspect the return of Mizuno Spvb 18 etc...
