Interesting - 4 person block all on one side led to a tip by KU that was still covered by the ISU libero. Legal since the backrow ISU player didn't touch the ball. Curious form someone familiar with Iowa State as to who this was. Later in the point she was playing Center up in the back row (instead of baseline) - which is also very unusual.

Legal since *none* of the players in the the block touched the ball. If they had, the back-row player would have been part of a completed collective block, whether she touched the ball or not. It is illegal for a back-row player to participate in a completed collective block (14.6.1.3).

Thanks - otherwise it could easily be used as a strategy to confuse and change how a hitter will attack (as it may have here). Never would have thought about it before.

They could be IN trouble . . . trojansc said no (to trouble) a week ago. They definitely have moved closer to the bubble. The good news is they beat South Dakota so they should get in over them. They could use a win over Texas in the worst way. If they lose, they will be 17-11 (8-8) and 5-5 in their last 10.

Both teams want/need the win on Saturday afternoon (for different reasons), that's for sure.

Iowa State is fine. A loss to Texas is not going to drop them much.

I heard Karch say that RPI is based on 25% your own record and 75% based on your opponents record??? If that’s true then Iowa State won’t move much, if any, when they lose to Texas. I would have to think a 44-46 RPI will be good enough. A win last night would have allowed them to breathe easier however.
