Talita/Taiana Lima BRA [11] Murakami/Ishii JPN [22] 0-2 (25-27, 9-21) What happened there?!?!? Thats the score that really stood out to me too. Talita whipped Ana/Rebecca last week and I wouldnt expect her to be vulnerable to the steady but undynamic play of the Japanese (maybe her partner). This feels like an injury to me

There should be some kind of 50 win clause/Gold Medal/WChampion clause. Its ridiculous that Kerri has to qualify at all much less a CQ I’m sure she’s happy with the wild card into world champs. At least with other events she can play her way into the main draw. Unless you think there’s some wear and tear effect building up, playing in the CQ and qualifiers hasn’t seemed to have hurt them at all. You could probably even argue that the additional matches has helped them gel as a team. I dont think it has hurt them yet but it will. They have lost to qualifier level teams this year, most of the top US teams have. It happens, its just a matter of when it will. For example, KW/BS are better than Sponcil/Claes but they aren't 9 out of 10 times better than them.

2S tops the pool. Day/Flint fall in straight sets (expected) against Duda/Agatha.

US looking good up a game to Australia and leading 11-10 in Game 2. Australia seem determined to go to Kerri with only a few serves here and there to Brooke (missed game 1 so maybe thats why but seems typical of the overcoaching prevalent on the FIVB)

A few serves to Brooke and Aus goes up 14-12, then they serve Kerri who hits straight down. Kerri has made a few errors hitting bad passes on 2, but every serve she has received she has put away
Nice run on Kerri's serve and its 18-16. So close
