Super happy for both Kerri and Brooke! Both have worked hard to come back from their injuries, and it's awesome to see Brooke get that first FIVB gold. I have to admit I didn't think they had a shot at making the Olympics, and now I definitely think they can if they can stay healthy. Brooke's shoulder looks much better. She's never going to be close to a power hitter, but she was able to put the ball down when Clancy pulled in the final and she couldn't do that a few months ago. It also seems like Brooke's game meshes pretty well with Kerri's, and it makes sense since Brooke is similar to Misty in a lot of ways. Obviously Misty was a vastly better side-out player, but both are excellent defenders with great ball control and high volleyball IQs. Both also have calm temperaments which may mesh better with Kerri than a more type A personality (like April or Hughes). I thought after Misty that April was the perfect partner for KWJ all around but not sure if they were that close off the court. I can’t imagine Kerri ever playing Volleyball with a partner that’s her best friend. The closest she same to that was Rachel Wacholder. I didn’t realize she is one of Kerri’s best friends until someone told me in Vegas last year. Kerri & April were an interesting pair. In hindsight had she stayed with April, she would be well on her way to her 6th Olympics and not struggling through CQ & Qualifiers?

“Ana Patricia has been struggling with a virus in Jinjiang, but it didn’t stop the Brazilians from reaching their third Chinese podium, winning golds in Qinzhou last year and Xiamen last month and now bronze.”

I can say for sure 90% of the posters didn’t think they had a shot (me included) but since last week, they have caught up to being one of USA’s top teams. They lead in Olympic ranking points as of after Jinjiang.

I think Kerri and Brooke will win more events because defense wins medals and they have been improving on limiting their hitting errors

Pretty impressive that she was able to come back and play that bronze medal match.

Anyone know what the USA points will be once this event is added in? Will Kerri and Brooke move to 3rd USA and not have to play CQ or Qualifiers?

Entry points for tournaments have to be submitted 3 weeks before the first match is played. So they will have to play CQ and qualifiers for Ostrava and Warsaw. Gstaad in July would be the first one that will have their points from this win too.

Anyone know what the USA points will be once this event is added in? Will Kerri and Brooke move to 3rd USA and not have to play CQ or Qualifiers? Yes. They’ll have 2300 entry points. ATeam will stay the same at 2920 points. 2S will drop to 2400 points (from the current 2720 points) Claes/Sponcil will also stay the same at 2280 points. The only problem is all events up to World Champs have already been seeded. Events are seeded three weeks prior to start of an event. Once seeding have occurred, those in Main Draw cannot move to Qualifiers and vice versa. It KWJ and BS keep up the good work, they should be out of CQ at Gstaad, the event right after World Champs. Seeding for Gstaad will occur on June 19. Teams have Ostrava and Warsaw to battle it out.

So happy and proud of Walshy and Brooke.Right now it looks like them and the Ateam for the Olympics. It is early though with many tournaments left and many things can happen. It is for sure a step in the right direction. Is it me or since Laura and Kira split there seems to be nobody really in the driver seat on the women's side and many teams are in the running for Gold in each tournament? Pretty exciting.

Ana/Rebecca are in the driver's seat. Illness is the only thing that beat them last week and they still podiumed.
