A lot of surprises on day 1 of pool play. Australia loses in 2 to Russia.

Not exactly good for the pool winners in Round 2. Four of the top 8 seeds lost at least one match in pool play.

Wow lots of good teams will have to face off round one. Someone’s getting a 17th. Lol. Sara paven Brandi Austria etc.
I saw Larsen served paven. Is teams serving Brandi now? Brandi didn’t really impress me when I saw her playing with Brooke

Tough draw for the ATeam. They will likely play Heather and Brandie in Round 2.
2S to possibly play AP/R.

Sponcil and Claes are in a position to challenge Walsh/Jennings point-wise for that 2nd spot and are really continuing to develop playing better ball. I would still be on it being KWJSweat with the A-team qualifying but another really good result here from Claes/Sponcil is going to make things interesting.

Two solid wins for Larsen and Stockman. They should win their first elimination match, setting up a showdown with either ATeam or Brandie. They almost beat ATeam last week. Good opportunity for them to stay in the mix among the top USA teams.

You must not have seen their match vs Poland. They played horrible volleyball, couldnt pass, very poor defense. Kelly telegraphing ridiculous cross court knuckle shots and Sarah playing NCAA level two balls. More than anything that team has had great luck in the draws Nice to see Larsen/Stockman finally beat a quality team, it has been something like 15 matches in a row

Ateam v Canada should be fun

At this point for them it's all about results. Imo they already are our 3rd best womens team, and there's alot of room for growth there.

Maybe, with whatever is going on with Summer/Sara, but if S2 were healthy and playing well? No. Who have Sponcil/Claes beaten? Borger/Sude and Summer/Sara thats basically it. Larsen/Stockman have better wins, as do Summer/Sara. This team has potential but until they beat a top team, lets be careful annointing them. They have played 6 top teams since Sponcil's college season ended. Their record? 0-6. They made a third game one time, basically because Ana/Rebecca were messing around but that was not a close match Last year when they were healthy, and early this year, Summer/Sara were a threat to beat anyone any time. Spaes? Not so much

They did but they also almost beat Brandie/Heather They lost to S2 and Ateam last week. You could read that they are catching fire based on the three gamer with April/Alix, but I am inclined to think they still need to prove it. LL will be the best player in that match and her partner will probably be the worst so could go either way

In respect to Summer/Sara, Summer is dealing with a back problem and is just trying to power through some events to get whatever $$ and points they can before likely shutting it down for an unspecified period of time.
