seriously?! who in their right mind would want to listen to the Pres/ADs/Dennis pontificate more than they already do? (you of all people want to hear the Poly Pres and AD spew a bunch of gobbledygoop and act important?) how's that $50 mil arena going at Poly? probably haven't raised more than $50k, enough said and why is the MWC so 'attractive' games in New Mexico, Wyoming, and Boise are really where people want to go how's their Baseball, T&F, tennis, Soccer....compared to the Big West? Love the way you find so many positive things to say about the conference. ...try expressing at least one constructive idea to improve the BWC. Take you time you wouldn't want to stress those little gray cells. Thanks for mentioning CAL POLY's phantom arena,...zero $$$-nothing to the best of my knowledge. Right now Baggett Stadium is getting most of the attention,...new grandstands, clubhouse & scoreboard. And,...what athletic improvement(s) has your AD, Andy Fee, completed in the last two years? MWC,...is really only a football & basketball conference,...as far as I know. lol, actually you didn't mention any constructive idea about improving the conference - if you think having Dennis and those guys having a forum is actually constructive to any REAL improvement, smh you said, and I quote "Cal Poly needs to...... lobby their school's admin...." uhh, you do realize that Cal Poly and their admin are both Cal Poly, so you were actually saying Cal Poly needs to lobby Cal Poly lol, not sure how a school lobbying itself is really something that actually means anything. Fee hasn't done anything. LB alumni/supporters are the ones that have put the money into features into the baseball stadium. just like Cal Poly alumni are the ones driving the new Cal Poly facilities for Baseball & VB - the two respective ADs just ride on coattails - neither one is any sort of visionary AD. Both are just hoping to chance upon some fortunate success.

One of the draws to Hawaii joining the BWC was the strength of it's Baseball, Softball, and Women's Volleyball programs. In most BWC venues aside from Hawaii, I don't really see strong fan support at Women's and Men's VB matches. Are BWC Baseball and Softball games well attended? Even if Hawaii is no longer an elite baseball program, it still draws decent fan support, not sure how it is elsewhere in the BWC.

Long Beach SWEPT by Fullerton in Long Beach
first loss in THIRTY-SIX years at Long Beach to Fullerton, and only the 2nd overall in that time span
embarrasing what this coach is doing with this program, has totally put the program in the gutter in just 3 years
congrats to Fullerton, the more FUNDAMENTALLY SOUND TEAM my a mile tonight.

Hawaii had 5 straight bad sets, And then started to figure how to adjust Because they have a coach that has instilled fundamentals and discipline Lb never adjusts, they play a couple good sets. Then fall apart for 5, 6, 7 sets 3 years same pattern

Sunday was the first time I saw UCD in action after hearing about their pre conference success. I was very impressed not only by their size but the mobility of the team. They can easily take any of the top three teams in the BWC. Matias and Mahalia is a very good pin duo as well. Hope they can ramp their RPI high enough to make the tourney too.

Hawaii leads the Big West in attendance (2651) and is #24 nationally. But it's the biggest school and has it's own market so that's no surprise. It needs to turn it's fan base into performances on the field.
I would say baseball is one of the Big West's better attended sports. I always hear about certain Big West teams drawing well in soccer (which most Hawaii fans could care less about)
Yes, it's sad watching Long Beach State these days. I like the coach too.

Heck, UCI....who is at the bottom of the conference beat Hawaii 3-2. Fullerton is not the worst team.

Biggest school in terms of what--undergraduate enrollment or size of campus? In either case, the University of Hawaii is one of the smallest on both accounts. With an undergraduate enrollment of 12,881, UH pales in enrollment in comparison to CSUN(35,609 students), CS Fullerton(34,920 students), and LB State(31,351 students). In terms of the size of campus--in acreage--the University of Hawaii covers over 320 acres in the Manoa Valley. The largest campus--in total acreage--in the Big West is UC Irvine: campus spans over 1527 acres. The smallest campus--in terms of acreage--is Cal State Fullerton. Its campus covers only 236 acres.
