So, in some corner of Japan you can't buy a pizza but you can buy a frozen pizza? Why would they sell frozen pizzas if there was not already a market for baked pizzas?

I got frozen pizzas handy at the local 7-eleven, but pizza delivery is another problem. Can be quite far to get non-frozen pizza in Japan. And like I said, pizza delivery in Japan is not like the US, the coverage is patchy at best and not everywhere can you get pizza delivery. I don't always stay in big cities like Tokyo, Osaka or Nagoya, where fresh pizza is easy to get with chains like Domino or Pizza Hut. Look, I don't mean to be blunt, but maybe next time stick to stuff that you know? Like engines and planes?

Call me a pizza snob, but a pie is meant to be eaten hot right out of a pizza oven. Freezing a whole pie by adding additional preservatives and extra salt and then reviving it by whatever cooking strategy, be it oven, microwave, blowtorch, or grill yields a barely edible mishmash of dough, cheese, and tomato sauce.

That's just like your opinion, man.

Let us check the web and see that it has a 7-11 but no pizza places?

I love fresh hot pizza. I live in a town where the good places close at 9 and the chains close at 10. Sometimes at 130 am I need a snack so I can finish my writing or whatever I'm working on. When I lived in Chicago or DC, I never wanted frozen pizza, because I could always get it late. It's not about being a food snob. It's about passable pizza. I lived in NYC and loved all the pizza shops. I never thumbed my nose at the dollar slice places because in their niche, they were good. I know it's never going to beat a coal fired Margherita but it's good for what it is.

I went back in this thread to determine how this mini-feud between ironhammer and mikegarrison got started. It started on p. 3 when mike made a passing comment in the form of a double-negative sentence. I personally let that go as I have no interest in or experience in frozen or baked pizzas around the globe. And iron then makes a snide comment. I would’ve let that go as this happens a lot on VT and it’s all humor-driven. But mike has never been one for diplomacy and so he challenges an otherwise humor-intended remark (as I see it) and makes it personal. Iron then escalates. In conclusion, both need to take a seminar on anger management and diplomacy and how to reduce stress while engaging with others on online forums.

That assumes I don't actually like arguing things on online forums, which would be a false assumption. Besides that it was a snide comment (which I can and have let go many times), it was just strange that his claim was so easy to prove with a specific example, and yet he wouldn't name one. I mean, I totally admit that it's easier to get a frozen pizza at 3am than a fresh baked one almost everywhere.

If you meet someone who wants to argue with you, then great. But I think problems arise when both parties find each other and have different goals within a given thread. Perhaps one just wanted to make a snide comment but the other wants to argue a point. Or if John wants to share information and Bob comes in and brings up an old wound (from weeks ago) caused by John. Both are not synched in the same space. It's not a race if both parties haven't agreed that it's a race.

In your interaction with iron, he did respond in kind, so there's an "agreement" that both parties were willing to argue a point.

Can I just say the 7-11s in Japan are nothing like the 7-11s we have in the states. You can get a decent meal for a good price. We had a little picnic with the goodies we bought there.
