Tennis balls are used for attacking drills--the player approaches and simulates the attack motion when throwing the ball into the court. Not sure how they were used for passing drills. John Cook and his assistants threw tennis balls over the net to Laura Pilakowski who had to pass the balls to a prescribed target. (I read this somewhere.) Come on, man...

I'm just going to get on my Facebook account and ask Dani Busboom-Kelly. She's my bff. volleyguy used to be my bff but he's gotten very annoying of late. You called us numskulls whilst being a numskull. At best, it's a push.

No mention of tennis balls. The google result had this in the summary: Nebraska uses the ball machine to practice passing, with the machine playing the role of the opposing server.

Yeah, I read that but it doesn't mention the type of ball. I just assumed it was a volleyball, but I wasn't sure they had machines that could launch a volleyball-sized ball.

It was only a matter of time before all of volleytalk became Wolfgang's playground (sorry about the comment comparing you to my brother but he gave up growing a lawn a long time ago and tries to fix/build everything himself)

Well, I posted my question to Dani Busboom-Kelly's Facebook wall. Thought about messaging so that we could "chat" but that seemed too personal and she doesn't know who the f*** I am. So, just did the simple wall post where everyone could read it. Let's wait and see.

Wow, Laura Pilakowski is now Laura Buttermore and she is the volleyball strength coach at Hastings College in Hastings, NE. I'm firing off a friend request.

I should just contact Pilakowski instead of asking you numskulls. It's not that I did not believe you, never let the facts get in the way of a chance for pointless humor. You get a lot of hits on Google. One drill I saw, throw the tennis ball right after the volleyball is passed to teach maintaining focus and transitioning to your next defensive position. You can make a competitive drill out of it by counting tennis ball catches.

On average, how much swag does a VB player accumulate over a 4 year career? How many pairs of shoes, sweats, shorts, jerseys, tee shirts, pads, head bands, etc?
