On average, how much swag does a VB player accumulate over a 4 year career? How many pairs of shoes, sweats, shorts, jerseys, tee shirts, pads, head bands, etc? 462 Correct! But only if your team has decided to count used knee pads and head bands as swag.

It seems that if you didn't like a certain player, you could just throw the dodgeball really really hard at their noggin'.

4. Do the student-athletes get to keep anything from their playing days? For example, shoes, wrist bands, headbands, socks, unis? I've wondered how different programs handle this myself. One of my daughters played for a mid-level D1; They provided pretty much everything the SA would need. Due to a change in our financial situation, she ended up having to transfer. They wanted everything back; Uniforms, Backpack, Practice T-shirts, shoes, socks, sports bras, spandex, etc. I can see why they would the uniform and backpack but the rest seemed a bit vindictive/petty...if not just...creepy. Some of the team felt bad about it and gave her their extra practice t-shirts so she'd have something to remember the time with them. Another daughter played at a top-level D2; They also provided everything needed even though they operated on a tight budget. When she graduated they asked her to return the uniform and backback...everything else she could keep...including a nice Conference championship ring. My third plays for a low-level D1; She was provided a jersey and spandex...she had to buy everything else; kneepads, shoes, etc. Later a new coach came in and provided a full uniform package but she still needed to purchase a couple items on her own. We'll see what happens when she graduates.

Here's a couple other questions:
1. Let's say you have (or had) a kid who verbally committed to a particular volleyball program. In her senior year, she obviously knows which school she's going to attend but, just for giggles or whatever other reason, does she also apply to other schools anyway? Has this happened to anyone you know?
(Note that the NLI, once signed, binds the student-athlete to a particular school. However, the student can ask for a release from the school of her obligation or simply break the agreement but there are penalties, the most basic is that you lose a year of eligibility at the new school. If you don't plan on playing, you lose nothing.)
2. For those not committed to a particular school and expect to walk-on, does she apply to a bunch of schools or just the one where she's been invited to walk-on?

I coach with a small college program. Each season, all athletes usually get a package that includes shoes, sweats, shorts, spandex, ~5 shirts, backpack, uniforms, jacket, and hoodie. They get to keep everything except for the uniform (graduating athletes get framed uniform though). Other gear is often accumulated throughout the season as well - special events run by the athletics department sometimes involves our athletes getting gear they are supposed to wear that week (fundraiser or alumni events, for example). I would say lots of the stuff does not survive 4 years because of wear and tear, so what they actually come away with at the end can vary greatly.

And don't forget socks, sport bras, backpacks, travel bags. I would think headbands are an out-of-pocket expense. Can't give em everything. hah

Thanks for this thread created just for me, because I have a nagging question which I didn't know to whom I should direct it:
For the past 2-3 weeks, every time I open VT on my phone, I am logged out and have to log back in again. This is new, and doesn't happen with my laptop. Is there a way to fix this? What a pain. (Doesn't give "keep me logged in" option.)

I’ve had this question in my head, might as well ask it here. I don’t follow pro very closely, I watched novara, imoco, and vakif a couple times each.
For this question. Let’s say it’s possible for a player to play on 2 teams at the same time that are playing against each other.
Could any pro team beat the USA national teams best lineup, I know some USA players may be on the top pro teams so just pretend they can play for both. Some of these pro teams looked really good, if the national team was a pro team would they be the best pro team?
