Can anyone attend the alumni match and provide a report? This will be the easiest of the home matches to attend from a time of day perspective, but yet it’s still not possible for me. Will try to take a half day off work to attend the Pepperdine UCLA home matches on March 11. Suggest others plan to do the same. The LMU home match on March 5 is possible as a long lunch I suppose. Get in right at noon and leave right away.

Can anyone attend the alumni match and provide a report? Will be there but it’s more of a fun kickoff event than a “match” so I don’t think you can read much into it.

The alumni looked good. I mean it’s not your typical alumni match. Kelly, Sarah, Alexa, Nic Martin, Jenna Belton, Ally Wheeler, T Canon all played. April Ross in the house. And Abril. But neither of them played. It was a fun event with some entertaining volleyball.

Thoughts on how the current players fared?

So what are the guesses for the pairs?? Here are mine. 1. Haley Halgren/Hailey Harward 2. Joy Dennis/Nicole Nourse 3. Sammy Slater/Kyla Doig 4. Paige Dreeuws/Cammie Dorn 5. Audrey Nourse/ ? I would imagine Audrey Nourse has to be in the lineup but I’m not sure with who. Belen Castillo, Maja Kaiser, and Molly Ebertin all seem like viable options. Not sure who Audrey played with based off social media tho.... Also I know some people are going to think Dennis/Nourse is too high. I’d agree except I think people forget that the last time Joy played with a true defender was her freshman year, and she saw a lot of success that year with Bustamante, so I think it’s a viable option.

Mmm, my guess:
1) Haley Hallgren - Sammy Slater 2) Nourse twins 3) Kyla Doig - Hailey Harward 4) Joy Dennis - Maja Kaiser 5) Cammie Dorn - Paige Dreeuws
I don’t see the point of splitting up the twins and I would think they’ve already arranged to play together just like the McNamaras had at UCLA.

Video on IG today had: Slater/Doig Hallgren/Harward
And in today’s video of a scrimmage with Chinese athletes, the Nourse twins are together.
J. Dennis is with Harper Hallgren

No way Joy is a #2. She was horrible as either a 4 or 5 last year, and has had more than a fair chance. Put her on the bench and give someone else a shot.

Well, if the Nourse twins stay together and Joy is paired with Harper, then Joy is likely back to 4s at best.
These would have to be the top 3 pairs: Hallgren/Harward Doig/Slater Nourse/Nourse

JD at 4 or 5 is probably right.

JD at 4 or 5 is probably right. I thought the plan was to break the Nourse twins up for some reason. If they are staying together they are probably going to be the ones pair.
