Although how does someone get through admissions as a sport recruit without the support of the coaches of that sport? Unless Donna Heinel trumped up statements of support of which the coaches were not aware? For what it's worth, it sounds like the volleyball coaches were not implicated. |

If Nygaard was not aware, he should be beyond ticked if Admissions is being told something about a student athlete, when it could mean he doesn’t actually get a real athlete approved because the fake one uses up any goodwill or allowance. |

Donna Heinel was handling communication between the coaches and admissions, and in many cases was adding names to the list going to admissions, and then removing the names when sending the info back to the coaches.

That's certainly best case scenario for nygaard. I really hope he had no idea because I've been a fan of his since he was at ucla. As an aside is it just me or do other people find the idea of paying 250k+ to get into usc utterly ridiculous? I mean for A fraction of that if they had spent that much on tutors and test prep they could have easily gotten in. Usc is a decent school but lets not kid ourselves and pretend they are anywhere near the Harvard and stanfords of the world. |
