I wish April could keep her serve in right now I know right. A little deja vu of World Champs. I hate to say it.

Pavan starting to go on 2. Match point for them once again and they win.
Ok I’m done with this tournament.

Really good match. Props to the Canadians. So ATeam’s win streak ends at 5 tournaments. Match streak also ends at 30.

Ateam never seem friendly to other players. Well good job to Mel and Sarah! Really going to shake up AVP as they keep playing.

That’s not the same! Super close though. If only April kept her serves in. They really lost it when they failed to close out the first set.

I’m a fan of April but ever since she teamed up with Alix her on court demeanor has changed, it’s just what I noticed it’s even when they win. I do hope that April gets the gold in Tokyo it’ll be a battle but if anyone deserves it!!

So that’s twice that ATeam has lost to SP/MHP in a big moment match. I’m sure they’ll rather have lost HB and win this one instead. But there’s no such thing as that. I’m just saying. My boys and girls both lost. I’m done for the day. Hope Trevor gets his name on the pier.

Alix really had Mel bottled up late in the third set but they served too aggressively down the stretch and missed three in a row I think. They should have let up a little because Mel was really struggling to side out.
Also, when April’s passes were a little off the net I noticed that Alix tends to square her body all the way around so her sets are going almost completely perpendicular toward the net. It is very tough not to set too tight that way plus it’s really hard for a left side hitter to approach the ball coming at that angle. Maybe that is April’s preference, but I think they’d be better off if Alix would push the ball outside a bit more and for April to open up her body and take a wider approach so she can see the court better.

I think they need to make a pact. If they have x amount of consecutive service errors, they need to just keep the ball in. It’s not worth it to lose points because the ball was never in play. Sarah and Mel were never challenged this whole tournament. This was the first 3 setter for them.
