It sure did take a long time between people reporting it was done and them making the announcement. Usually, announcements are made within 24 hours once a hire is reportedly done, at least in the bigger sports. It's possible that it was done in principle but they were still negotiating on a few last points. Often, that's what it is, and it's fine, but sometimes, the hire actually falls through like it did with Jamie Dixon and UCLA men's basketball last year. I was just making a joke about those pictures. Yes, I'm aware it was a joke. I was just commenting on the length of the delay between reports of the hiring being done and the announcement.

At least now we know why OSU's announcement took so long. They probably had to find those playing pictures in the way way back part of the archives. It is insanely hard to find OSU VB pics from that era on the interwebs these days, no doubt about that, but the old VB arena still has some up on the wall that are even older than that. All three Big Ten Champion teams, spanning 1989-94.

I know we have talked alot about Ohio State, but what is the deal with Portland and Missouri State. Two programs that administrators knew that their programs needed knew head coaches before the season even ended, and yet.....nothing. Do the administration not even care??? How are the players even staying with such uncertainty? Well Missouri State just hired Bobby Petrino as their FB coach. So maybe they will hire the VB player that was on the back of his motorcycle when he crashed to coach the VB team.
Runner up for the position, no kidding, was reported to be Art Briles. Missouri State is willing to hire Bobby Petrino and Art Briles, but they fire Stokes for cause. That's not a great endorsement for Stokes.

No where to go but up on this one. Was thinking the same exact thing. Build out in the image you think a program should resemble. Actually...2 options...1) no where to go but up, or 2) go nowhere and stay at or near bottom of league. It all depends on what school is doing with program in terms on $$. Will it be funded as a DI program? Or are they transitioning to DI with DII scholarships and money? While the NEC may not be a frightening conference, Merrimack will still need to be funded to compete.

I've now heard it from 4 different people how completely unethical this athletic department is....and this only proves it more in my eyes. The Briles and Petrino incident shows their merit. NO wonder they why they haven't hired anyone.

Her transgressions are miniscule as compared to what those two turd buckets did.
