Good for her. She seems to have done a really good job at Ohio.

You can be tough, as long as you’re not toxic. Some coaches don't know the difference.

Solid hire for them. She is a student of the game and will have a positive impact on our vb community.

Actually...2 options...1) no where to go but up, or 2) go nowhere and stay at or near bottom of league. It all depends on what school is doing with program in terms on $$. Will it be funded as a DI program? Or are they transitioning to DI with DII scholarships and money? While the NEC may not be a frightening conference, Merrimack will still need to be funded to compete. Heard they’re only offering 30k for the position with possibility to MAYBE raise it to 40. They want someone with D1 experience to come in but I don’t know that they’re gonna find it at that rate. Did some looking at housing costs in the area... Can't live in that area for 30,000.

Maybe if it's more part-timey or has heavy incentives but there's no way they get anyone good. With MA's minimum wage you could just work at a McDonald's and earn almost the same.

Texas has hired a Technical coordinator into their staff.
Seems to have worked out pretty well at their previous school.

When the minimum wage get to $15/hour... $15 times 40 hours a week = $600/week. $600/week time 52 weeks = $31,200/year. Plus, unlike coaching volleyball, at McDonalds you get paid extra for working overtime.

I talked to Jamie about this in Pittsburgh, I was on my way out of town on Sunday and he was on his way to some AVCA meeting. I hasked his how he was going to do it, he said his wife is super supportive and his associate HC Kyrsten Becker is a rock star in her own right. So he is well supported. Jamie has been around the block a few times, he did the fundraising for the facilities improvement for his team, so he is comfortable in that part of the job.
