Besides, you don't have to like or get along with your fellow committee members. It's like real life.

By the way. I totally promise to be impartial unless you are Riviera Minestrone or @dirtrider, in which case !!!!###$$$!!! you. There are options to add more "awards" for the All-VolleyTalk Awards. Simply make a proposal and if it gets over 50% votes among committee members, it'll be on the books. For example, All-VolleyTalk Douchebag. But I suspect you were only joking. And then there'll be a dispute as to what the difference is between All-VT Douchebag vs. All-VT Villian vs. All-Turkey. I once asked vbprisoner what the difference was between his All-Villain and his upcoming All-Turkey and I did not get a satisfactory answer. ( tomclen abandoned it so vbprisoner may pick it up.)

Oh, I'm not joking. But I'm only one person. If, against all past precedent, Riviera Minestrone actually made a positive contribution to this forum, then I would reconsider. But I don't expect that will happen.

You got an answer, you just didn't like the answer you got because it wasn't black & white. The Turkey of the year can be a Villian, but not all Villians will qualify for ToY. Also, the ToY is currently dynamic in terms of what qualities will be most important. I am waiting on feedback from the Home Office and will post for the upcoming 2020 season! And be me replying to your post I am bringing your little "outsourcing project thread" back to the front page... you're welcome!

It sure seems like Wolfgang is narrowing the pool of potential All-VolleyTalk by including so many former recipients.. It's almost like he is trying to narrow the field to help someone win..

I can only speak for myself, but I intended to decline any future nomination anyway, both because I wanted to open things up for other winners and because it became clear to me that some people wanted this recognition WAY more than I did.

I forgot my password and couldn't log in to my account for the last 6 weeks or so and haven't updated the profiles of the All-Volleytalk award winners. I'll get to it (unless I forget my password again.)

It sure seems like Wolfgang is narrowing the pool of potential All-VolleyTalk by including so many former recipients.. It's almost like he is trying to narrow the field to help someone win.. Not true. I have no hidden agenda other than coming up with schemes that will further my laziness. The committee members are largely those who volunteered on their own. Some members of the committee are past All-VT recipients who volunteered without any prompting by me, see, e.g., mikegarrison, trainermch, Boof1224, bigfan, vup. In a few cases, I had to ask them "Are you really sure you want to join? You may be a shoo-in for an award in 2020 and joining would take you out of the running." Some still joined. Others did not. If I really wanted to open up the awards to those who have not been recognized before, I would've just gone down the list of past recipients and invited them all to join. But I have not done so.

I need and want the following peeps to be members of my committee: Mocha skeleton @ruffda ✔︎azvb ✔︎brooselee Brutus Buckeye kaipono tnp101 pepperbrooks WahineFan44 ✔︎redcard ✔︎staticb gobruins oldmanred Disc808 808empath ✔︎✔︎ means they have committed to the committee. We currently have 24 members but I would like a few more. I picked you because you are active in this forum and may be in the best position to judge who are the best posters. Also, you seem level headed and won't cause any trouble. If you decide to join the committee, here are some things to consider: 1. You get to judge your fellow posters and decide who were the best of the best in 2020. 2. You will join an exclusive organization with a secret thread where you can voice your opinions on the All-VolleyTalk Awards structure, rules, etc. and have voting privileges to effect change, if you want. 3. You will automatically NOT be eligible for any All-VolleyTalk Awards. This should be obvious to you. Nothing says "shady" and "conflict of interest" than an All-VolleyTalk Award committee member being named an All-VolleyTalk Award honoree. 4. The time commitment is minimal. There are only 4 "meetings" -- March 1, June 1, September 1, and December 1. During the "meetings," you simply vote for various propositions that may (or may not) come up. The first one is March 1 where you get to decide whether your personal ballots should be made public or not. The final "meeting" on December 1 is when you vote for the All-VolleyTalk honorees. 5. End of the year picnic in Dubuque, Iowa. If you decide not to take up my offer, I will totes understand. You may PM me, post in this thread with your decision, or do nothing (which I will gather as your way of saying, "No way, Jose.") I probably won't; but I will consider! Thanks for the invite! I don't feel I'm knowledgeable enough to be fair!😍 GO HUSKERS
