one thing I would do to fix it would be to remove all the sound effects from the space battles, since sound waves don't carry across the vacuum of space.

Once you start going down the road of scientific inaccuracies, the whole thing falls apart. What are the odds that an ancient galaxy would be inhabited by humans, who speak perfect English; some with American accents, others with British accents, and even a Scottish guy? Then for those humans to evolve into Whites, Blacks, and Asians, and use the metric system? Come on, now.

Star trek really got me thinking and Star Wars nailed it for sure. English is not only the universal language in our galaxy but it goes out to other galaxies also. It removed all doubts and why do people think that other languages should be spoken is beyond me.

If that's the case, then we are descendants of an alien race that was marooned on this planet and the evolution theory is shot to pieces.

You really can't form logical sentences, can you? Oh well, that's no suprise with your kind. Dork So you lost the argument and can't form any meaningful contribution to this forum. If hurling insults is all you can do, I can treat you just the same then. Time to wake up and live in the real world, moron. Mommy can't take care of you all the time. Ohhh...did I hurt your precious feeling? How about I give you a lollipop to cheer you up?

Was there an arguement somewhere? I was making a joke and you chose to say something stupid.

Those things can vary. But the laws of science are a bit more resolute. Of course, there is always the argument that faster-than-light travel is impossible. But take that away and all these space shows get really boring really quickly because everyone would have to spend years going from place to place.

With our current technology it would take us 73,000 years to get to our nearest star. Of course we would probably invent something much faster in the future that could pick them up on the way there. At any rate it would be a completely different group of people by the time they arrived, and they wouldn't have a very good idea of what their home planet was like. They'd have very few skills outside of navigating the ship. There'd probably be a bit of a Lord of the Flies thing going on. And of course what in the world would they do for food and water?

Human beings are gonna go extinct long before we figure out how to travel to another planet or find intelligent life in the universe or figure out what happened to Jimmy Hoffa.
