Obviously, it will depend on who they can get to say yes, but I voted for over $250K. I'd set the over/under at $300K if USC is really serious.
Edit: The poll was changed to make the range higher. In that case, I'm in on $300K-$350K.

Someone may say that's not true but they're having trouble finding their next coach.

Declaring my vote: I went for the 150-200k option. Just under that doesn't seem possible given the cost of living but it wouldn't surprise me either. Above 200k would surprise me though, unless they do happen to bring in a big name. But who really thinks they're going to do that?

Under normal circumstances, I'd probably agree (though I think even then, $150K-$200K is too low--I'd go with $200K to $250K). But supposedly there is/are mystery donor(s) that are willing to subsidize the salary. And as I said, if USC is serious, I think it will take a minimum of $300K to get the kind of coach they're looking for given the cost of living in LA, etc. Paying under $200K is broadcasting to the world that they're not taking the program seriously. We'll see.

If you're like Kato Kaelin, you could live in an in-law quarter in a mansion rent-free. You just need to find your OJ.

But I'm guessing other coaches will be able to find out how much they're paying the new hire. And if it's not a competitive figure, then that makes any future coaching searches harder. Just look at UCLA basketball. Their reputation for being cheap has hurt them for a long time.

If at least one interviewee knows the salary number, everyone will eventually know.
