There are 33 players listed on the USWNT roster on the USA Volleyball website.
I have heard rumors circulating of the "wide roster" for this season is slated to be 40 athletes.
The players listed in the above poll have either seen some time already with the NT, are playing admirably over seas, about to play professionally or are stars of their collegiate programs.
In the poll above, please choose one complete starting line-up (1 setter, libero, opposite and 2 middles and outside hitters) that you would invite to train with the NT starting this spring. If you want to select athletes from certain specialties and not other then I suppose that is fine. What ever you feel the program needs to be developing is what you should choose. I would prefer a complete 7 starting line-up.
These 7 will probably make a dash at a Tokyo spot but are most likely aiming for 2021 and beyond to make their mark.
As always...if you choose the "other" option(s)....please list them below with an explanation.
Thanks friends!

The real question here is.....do any of these players have a realistic shot at a Tokyo roster spot? I sincerely do not think so. Not with less than 6 months until the Olympics. I do think some of them could make the 2020 VNL roster. I'm not sure how much playing time they would receive though.

Would be nice to see 1-2 of these players on the VNL roster to at least get some good experience.

I think Butler, Pressley, Vander-Weide and maybe a Libero out of (Hentz, White and Maloney) could get a spot. Even if it doesn't happen....we have tons of talent in the gym right now so the transition in 2021 should be smooth. OH is a little concerning but I am hopeful that a hand full will emerge. It all depends on if Larson, Hill and MBH retire after Tokyo.

She will be the captain for sure. Her time has arrived. She is playing soooo good right now.

If this is for training, I would pick a few liberos, so at least there is ball control, and it will make it harder for the hitters, not so much that they need to add liberos, it for training, I love having extra libs in the gym...

Brionne Butler's name is on the 40 person 'long list' of players submitted for the NT roster. She'll be in Colorado for the tryout along with Eggleston & Fields.

Well someone go pick her up! For a player like Mac May, you don't just call an Uber. You send a limo!

Are we talking the group tryout in Colorado for the Collegiate teams, or an invite to go out to Anaheim over spring break to train with the big girls?
