Stanfurd, Michigan, Navy, wherever Roethlisberger went…Miami? Stanford (Herbert Hoover/Jim Plunkett and John Elway) Michigan (Gerald Ford/Tom Brady- extra fun because Ford played football at Michigan, too) Navy Miami University (Benjamin Harrison/Ben Roethlisberger) One more! I've seen this question before. Delaware! With a couple guys named flacco and Biden.

I've seen this question before. Delaware! With a couple guys named flacco and Biden. And Biden was on the Blue Hens freshman football team but he never played on the varsity team. His 1.9 GPA in the fall quarter forced him to focus on his studies and abandon college football for awhile. He later played Spring football for the Blue Hens during his junior year and was going to join the team in the Fall (his senior year), but he gave up playing football after meeting his first wife on a trip to Florida.

I was hoping my Steelers would go for Cousins or Mayfield. Granted, both of them are quite expensive. The Steelers opted for a one-year deal with Russell Wilson, who signed for the league minimum because the Broncos still have to pay him a ton of money. It wasn't great for him in Denver, but he is a former Super Bowl winner. At the very least, he seems like a decent stopgap for one year. Maybe we'll get lucky and get Penix in the draft.

The Steelers traded a sixth-round pick for Justin Fields. I thought we learned our lesson from Trubisky to not take Bears QB castoffs. Also, this probably means that the dream of drafting Penix is probably dead. Wilson/Fields will probably keep the meaningless non-losing season streak alive and not much else.

So I saw a graphic on SportCenter that showed that R. Wilson and Fields were sacked 100 and 99 times, respectively, over the last two seasons. Apparently, no other quarterback (not even garbage Zach Wilson--though he kept getting benched) has been sacked as many as 80 times in that span. Great. The more I think about this, the more I hate what the Steelers are doing. Quarterback is the most important position. Going cheap like this probably won't work out.
Edit: I somehow missed this earlier, but the Steelers traded Kenny Pickett for the Eagles for what amounts to two seventh round picks and a pick swap of 22 spots in the middle of the draft (3rd and 4th rounds). Apparently, Pickett didn't want to compete for the starting job with Wilson? Lol. I wasn't exactly thrilled with the Wilson signing either, but he's still better than Pickett, who I think is likely to be a career backup. He's just not good enough.

The NFL Draft is tonight. It will be interesting to see how many quarterbacks go in the first round. As many as six, with four possibly in the top five picks.

USC just picked up another Heisman and Washington made the championship.
Can we keep the Pac12 together, please?

The first pick isn't even in yet, but Detroit rolled out Eminem, Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson for the intro. So the GOAT running back, the GOAT rapper and an all-time great wide receiver. Hilariously, not even they could keep Goodell from getting booed. This draft is off to a great start.

As expected, the top three picks are Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye, in that order. So three quarterbacks off the board in the first three picks. I'm glad the Patriots didn't take JJ McCarthy. I like him, and I don't want to have to root against him because he went to New England.

Wow, Atlanta just took Michael Penix Jr. at 8 (!). That's at least 10 spots higher than he was projected. And they already spent a ton of money on Kirk Cousins. I like Penix a lot and wanted the Steelers to draft him if he fell to them at 20 or even if they had to trade up a few spots. But still. This is a shocker.

Six quarterbacks off the board in the first 12 picks with the Broncos taking Bo Nix. Honestly, when they were about to make the pick, I was thinking that I wouldn't want to draft him. But then I remembered that they just traded for Zach Wilson. Nix has to be better than that.
