One bright spot in the FLYERS' season Wayne Simmonds comes home.

Final week of the regular season. Is this the year the rangers win the cup for the first time since 1994?

It appears that the Phoenix Coyotes will be sold, moved to Salt Lake City and renamed. Jazz owner Ryan Smith will be the new owner.

So Colorado avalanche coach gave his best players the option of resting up for the playoffs or playing in the finale tonight against Edmonton. They all opted to play. That's cool.
In an age when players opt out instead of risking injury that's refreshing.

Salt Lake City is in a desert. Ha ha yes..my fault. Also known as the great basin. Well at least the weather is cold. Vegas won it all last year, and Tampa won two in a row. LA has a few recent Stanley Cups as well. So it's not the heat that's the problem.

Boston vs. Carolina in the east and Dallas vs. Vegas in the West. Dallas over Carolina for the Stanley cup. Easier just to post this instead of going through the hassle of creating a new user id and password Edit: forgot that Dallas and Colorado cannot play in the West final because they are in the same division and likewise with the rangers and Carolina in the east.

So it's not the heat that's the problem. Heat certainly isn't an issue. Still, from a traditionalist standpoint, it does seem more appropriate for cities with cold winters to do better in hockey...like Winnipeg. That Canadian city is notorious for its long and bitterly cold winters. Winters there last at least 5 months a year. So I am happy the Jets beat the Avalanche in game 1 of the playoffs. Anyone rooting for the Jets here?

Just saw that Dallas Vegas is a first round matchup so who will lose to Dallas in the West final now? Edmonton.

Started the playoffs with a bad feeling, and for the Bruins/Leafs went with "the first team to win a road game will win the series". Uh oh! Shattenkirk AND Grzelcyk in the lineup? Luckily I am very bad at predicting.
