Detroit is trailing 108-100 to Brooklyn with about 3 minutes left. Looks like 27 losses in a row. I actually am rooting for this not to age well.

So they have the record. They're also on the watch list for least wins in an 82-game season, which is currently nine by the 1973 76ers. Detroit is on pace for between five and six wins, but it wouldn't take too much for them to "get hot" and avoid that infamy too.

they play the Celtics next who are one of the best teams in the league. then the Raptors, who beat them by 30 during the streak already. then the Rockets, who are two games above .500. then the Jazz, who beat them earlier this month with THREE or four starters out. then the Warriors. then the Nuggets. then the 4 seeded Kings. and then we fiiiiinally have a decent shot at a win against the 4-win Spurs on… January 10th. this is rough. if they drop that one, they should have a decent shot at the 5-win Wizards two games later.

If you look at their individual players there's no reason for them to be so poor. if they don't play to their talent the chemistry must be rotten.

Bojan and Duren have missed significant time and they’re easily the second and third best players on the pistons. the rest of the team is terrible.

Well, you never know. They might randomly beat someone that's much better than them. Basketball has relatively high variance in single-game contests. The '96 Bulls only lost 10 games in the regular season, but one of them was to the expansion Raptors who finished 21-61 that year.

But on the other hand, teams might not take the Pistons that seriously. You make an interesting point about teams not wanting to lose to break the streak...but I'm skeptical that modern NBA players care that much about such things. I guess we'll see, but I do not expect most teams to treat a game with the Pistons the same way teams treated a game with those Bulls or how MJ treated every game.

Pistons beat Washington 129-117. Hopefully they win a little more often so they are just another bad team instead of a historically bad team.

Detroit 120 OKC 104 final. Good to see the pistons rising to the status of just another bad team instead of historic stuff.

So there's going to be a 3 point shootout at the NBA All Star Game side festivities between Stephen Curry and Sabrina Ionescu. Doesn't quite seem fair though. Curry will be shooting from the NBA 3 point line using larger NBA basketballs, while Ionescu gets to shoot from the shorter WNBA line using smaller WNBA basketballs.
